Is this normal??
I started vaping on 16mg, but bought some 18mg because I forgot what mg I was using (it's not helpful to have "low, medium or high" instead of actual numbers IMO). Still having MAJOR cravings and vaping like crazy I decided to go to 24mg. It was very satisfying. I bought a bigger bottle of 24mg, but ran out about a week before my new bottle arrived. I know, noob mistake, but my husband used up all the 24mg. I think he needs a higher strength because he guzzles that stuff like crazy and still can't get any satisfaction...anyway, back to my dilemma. I got the 24mg and used it a little but started feeling sick :( So I thought, great! I have this big bottle and I can't even use it now!! But today I started on my 18mg morning vape and it just wasn't hitting the spot. So now I'm constantly vaping the 24mg and still not getting satisfaction (it's only been about an hour though).
Therefore my question is...is it normal to be so up and down in nic strength? Like I said, I've been at this for one month (and 1 day now :) ), shouldn't things start to be more...BLAH now I can't think of the word I'm looking for....equal? Normal? Straight? Sorry guys...I'm a monster when I don't get enough nic and my brain is NOT working right atm!!!!
Just wondering. Thanks for any input.

It happens Ms. Harmony. There are times when 18mg is just enough, and 36mg seems even too little. It never really does balance itself out... You also have to factor in the other additives your body is craving from the cigs. This is usually the mark in the journey where the wthdrwals from those starting biting bad... What are you vaping, I have some 36mg Nuport wow cartos I can send to see if you like and if it helps...

Good points Morandir. Also Harmony, what exactly are you vaping? It could be that you need to change up the flavor/style rather than strength.

For instance - I started on 11/12 mg. It worked for me but I found that it just lacked a bit sometimes. I then went up to 18 mg and I'm happy as a clam but for me it's more about a strong TH than the actual nicotine.

Are you using WOW? If so, I would try the Premium CoolCarts. Those (at least for me) give a great bang to the vape which satisfies me. The flavor will be different but the hit is much bolder from what I've experienced.

Thanks for the reassurance. I guess it's just one of those days. It's a little disappointing to find out that it never gets better :( I went grocery shopping and I feel a little bit better. Maybe I just needed to get up and moving. Thank you for the offer but it took a long time for me to get comfortable enough for the 24mg...I'm a little scared of higher strengths. Although I must admit that I like the Nuport flavor :) I was a menthol smoker so I like the minty flavors!

Never say never Harmony....I've gone through the same things too and I no longer have the same feelings.(major cravings) It all depends on the individual honey. I'm almost at my 5 month mark and my MAJOR cravings didn't last that long...

I must admit that I haven't tried any V4L flavors yet  so I'm a little hesitant to say what I'm vaping. Or where it's from anyway. It's vanilla flavor though. I have a menthol flavor that's 24mg, it's VERY strong (even though it's menthol light) so I'm giving that a try. The site I buy from doesn't specify their mix, but I get a pretty good TH from most of the flavors, the monthol is almost TOO much. I can't get a full inhale sometimes. Thanks for the input, I will keep that in mind for the future :)

Agree with the boys... I also find depending on the time of day I'm on a curve: 11 morning-18 afternoon-11 evening (unless there's lots of hooch involved, then it stays 18 and needs to be tobacco-flavored).

I like your new avatar too :) So cute!! And lol!! I'm almost the opposite. I need a high strength in the morning when I wake up. I use the lower during the day. Higher while I'm at work because I dont get to vape much. Higher when I get off work and then lower when I get home until I go to bed. Although my higher is 24 and my lower is 18. Thanks for the input :)

It gets better Ms. Harmony, just never 100% balances itself out unless you completely kick the nicotine habit... Which is just like any other drug habit, it never really goes away, just remission... Nothing to get down on. :) The offer stands, just let me know.

Thanks so much!!! I have conflicting opinions on whether to fully quit the nicotine or not. I like it, how it makes me feel (stress relief and all) but I would like to one day be free of the addiction. Maybe one day I will at least get down to a low (4mg or something like that). Only time will tell I guess.
I do have another question, although it's a little silly at this point. Is it ok to post non-V4L questions like the OP here? I've seen some people have a problem with OT posts. I just trust you guys and figure I might get more help here than the General forum, I've had a few questions go unanswered there. Although the new members forum seems to be very informative. I just don't want to look silly postin in the new forum after being here a couple months.

Thank you Anita!! Hopefully they will subside. After reading around I thought I'd be free and clear after the first two weeks. So I just kept telling myself I have to get passed that point. But you're right, it is different for everyone. Hopefully I'll be one of the lucky ones :) It's not a craving for cigs, just not satisfied with the nicotine intake, I'm probably just worrying too much. Until today I would be okay after a few drags on the 24mg. But after an hour of straight vaping I was just frustrated. And, like I said, worried. I've heard of people getting sick from too much nicotine and I really don't want to be sick :(

I wish Lily didn't work so much, this is something she's dealing with. I just lowered my strength from 24 to 18, but any lower just don't get it for me. 36 gives me a headache, as I always chain vape. Question is, and only time will tell - will I stay with 18mg ???

The oddest thing happened to me the other day, OT I know, but I just could not get the right hit from my eciggy. All day. I tried to stay on the PT, brushed and watered my innards, tried everything to get some vape satisfaction but didn't happen till the next day and everything is cool now. Weird me thinks. I could have smoked that day but didn't. Is that odd?

There's 2 things that I've not seen anybody really comment on thus far, so I'll try to cover them as best as I can.

1. You mentioned you are not vaping V4L juice. I'm not sure who your supplier is, but there have been reports of some suppliers who don't monitor their product as well as they should, and have had major inconsistencies in the amount of nicotine per ml in each bottle. It's quite possible that you are vaping 4mg juice that's been labeled as an 18mg juice.

2. Nicotine absorption rates are different on an ecig than they are from a cigarette. When smoking a cigarette, the nicotine is absorbed through your lungs and can reach your brain in as little as 10 seconds from the first puff. When vaping on an ecig, nicotine absorption is 7x lower than what you are used to from a cigarette. It also doesn't reach the brain as fast since it doesn't have smoke to bind itself to. Most people find that it takes over 20 minutes for the nicotine to reach the brain from an ecig.

Some small facts that might help:

15 puffs on an average cigarette would equal about .9 mg of nicotine.
15 puffs on a 18 mg cartridge would equal about 0.15 mg of nicotine.
Nicotine binds to receptors in the brain and releases dopamine, which is what gives you the calming effect.
Nicotine itself is not a harmful drug. In fact, most medical researchers agree that nicotine is no worse than caffeine.
Nicotine is naturally occurring in things you eat every day, including tomatoes.

If you are using your ecig like you used to use your cigarettes, you'll find that it's harder to get rid of the cravings once you feel them. A lot of people suggest you vape more often, and before you feel the onset of cravings, since you are getting less nicotine per puff. This allows you to not build up cravings once the receptors in your brain re-sensitize.

Wow!! That is alot of info! Thanks Darrigaaz! I have heard of the reports that some vendors aren't truthful on their nic strength, and I really hope that not the case. I lean towards it not being the case because this is my normal morning vape. Like I said, yesterday I took a few drags and felt kinda sick so I used a lower strength. But who knows!
I'm glad that some think nicotine isn't harmful. I looked into DIY and was a little scared after reading that they use pure nic as an insecticide and it kills everything instantly including humans! And can make you sick/die from just a few drops on your skin!! I quit looking after that :D I know it's different the way we use it, I just don't trust myself not to spill and my math/chemistry is not advanced enough to know what I'm doing.
And I definitely don't vape like I used to smoke. I smoked 5-10 a day and I sit here with my PT and vape all the time. Although this morning I hadn't had one all night so the cravings were pretty brutal. It doesn't happen every morning, thankfully!
