So... I'm confused... if VG has less throat hit and less flavor... why do so many people seem to have a preferance for it?

Actually most vape PG or a dominant PG mix. But the reason why I like VG is for the vapor and it is a noticeable difference from PG - not 'double' but more than PG. I'm not big on throat hit and I find no difference between flavoring in PG vs. VG except that in some flavors, VG is a tad sweeter but both have a sweetness factor. PEG400 is not sweet and is a tad harsh - ie good throat hit for those that like it. And it isn't like you can't feel the VG in your mouth and lungs - you know it's there, it just doesn't react to the mucus membranes like the PG and PEG400 based juice do.

You can get more throat hit from VG by mixing it (it needs some blending - like 80/20) with pure grain alcohol instead of distilled water and you can add flavoring that simulates throat hit. And a higher nic level will get you throat hit with VG as well. Just not the same as with PG with the same amount. That's the long answer.

The short answer is "VAPOR". :)

PG makes my mouth and throat too dry, and if I keep using it I will start to get a sore tongue. Drinking water helps a bit, but not a lot. PG also irritates my grastric tract. VG does not do these things at all to me. So I make all my juices DIY VG, with the only PG from any flavors I use that contain it. Even then, if I make a juice with more than 15% flavoring I will start to have problems from the PG in the flavoring.

As for TH, like Kent, I am not big on TH. MY VG juices have plenty for me, and I prefer TH to be just from nic, not some artificially created throat irritation from PG that is meant to make me think I'm smoking. Even so, my VG juices have a much bigger TH than analogs, at least the Winston Lights I still have occasionally.

And I love the flavors of my VG juices. One can enhance the flavor a lot in a VG juice by adding a little PGA to the juice, although I personally do not do this. PG adds a flavor, or more accurately a quality to the vape that I am not fond of. Sort of sour to me, and not in a good way. VG is sweeter, and I like that.
