Woohoo! Yeah, analogs taste horrible once you've been vaping for a while ;)
And now that you've got that out of your system ( ;) ) welcome to the lovely world of 100% vaping!

- and if you DO have a tobacco cigarette once in a while, then it is not the end of the world. You will probably find that it tastes nasty, stub it out and then go back to vaping yummy liquids :)

I used to enjoy smoking and only decided to have a real attempt at giving up when I had to stop working, they were just so expensive and I was always stressing in case I ran out completely ... honestly, if it was a choice between food or cigs I'd buy less food anyday :) but since my first vape a month ago I haven't even thought about ciggies but I think that I was very lucky in that my first purchase of ejuice was from a local vendor who advised me what set up to buy and gave me a sample of 'cherry cigar' flavour at 24mg which is still my fave and satisfied any cravings I had ... :) I reckon that's half the battle for some folks at the start, finding something that overpowers the need for tobacco ?

btw.. I'm 64 and smoked for 50yrs without any ill effects ..( as far as I know ):2cool:

At about 3 weeks into my vaping journey I also decided to have a smoke. It was more out of curiosity than a desire for one. I needed to know if I really didn't want one. I smoked that cigarette and all I could taste was ashtray. That let me know that I was truly done with them once and for all. I haven't even considered smoking a real cigarette since.

Right at about 6 months clean here. 6 months prior to that I fought and fussed with cig-a-likes running out, getting bad filters, or buying unbearble tasting gas station ones. I would make it a week or two and smoke a few when e-cigs werent available... hated myself every time...

Now I cherish those moments of hating the smell of smoke on my clothes. They remind me why I vape and dont smoke.

[blah blah blah] ... vaping is so much better and it makes me feel a ton better!!! ... [blah blah blah]
In this case the cup is half full. For me that would be 649 not smoked. Yep, 2.5 PAD.

My best friend's wife smokes and I gotta say it stinks in that house. Uh oh. I will not become one of those ANNOYING ex-smokers.

:)

In the interest of full disclosure - when I started vaping, I had 6 smokes left. I decided to smoke them. Morning coffee and post dinner until they were gone.

The first day I smoked them because I wanted them.

The second day I smoked the morning coffee one - and labored through the post dinner one.

The third day - ...well, I still had 2 smokes left until this weekend when I came across them while cleaning. I just tossed them in the trash without a second thought.

Point is - everyone takes a different path. The real win is in the cigarettes you /haven't/ smoked - not in the ones you do.

Roflmfao!!! It's all good, most everyone picks up a stinky after vaping for awhile. And most discover it taste like chit. Just consider it Vape Reinforcement Therapy. Don't slam yourself, congratulate yourself for choosing to vape. Just call it the after vapers taste test. You didn't start smoking again, it was not a relapse unless you went out and bought a carton of smokes and no longer vape. Doesn't even count as smoking if you only tried one.

I've entered "Vape Reinforcement Therapy" into AgentAnia's e-cig dictionary, with credit to you. Love it!

Hey, don't beat yourself up over it. Actually, I think it is a good thing that you had that Newport today. You got to answer that little voice in your head that keeps telling you that you want a cigarette. POOF!!! All gone now! You had the cigarette and from what you say, it was terrible. So you got it out of your system. The next time that little voice tells you that you want a cigarette, you will already know that you do not.

Today was a victory for you! You have made the conscious decision that you prefer vaping over the cigarettes.

CONGRATULATIONS!!!

I completely agree about answering the little voice in your head. I admit I had a stinky at lunch break today when a coworker lit up in front of me. Curiosity got me, as my taste buds have been starting to function again since I've been vaping. I wanted to see what a cigarette tasted like now, after being off them for almost two weeks. OMG, how did I smoke those things! I couldn't finish the cigarette. It was truly gross to me. My curiosity is satisfied and I now have a pretty unpleasant memory stored in brain to help combat any further "curiosity" or cravings. Yuck!

This is my 3rd week, and this story happens to me daily  so daily i am taking somthing like 4 or 5 normal cigs. Anyway i was on 40-60 cig daily so i consider it improvement

How any ex-smoker, who once smoked PAD or more, can't see this ^ as awesome, is beyond me.

I no longer struggle with smoking, even while I choose to smoke. I usually look forward to my next smoke, but can very easily pass up a situation where it is opportune time to have one. I smoke, because I choose to, and moderate smoking is, IMO, awesome. I didn't have that example anywhere when I was growing up, and all the anti-smoking propaganda doesn't relate to me when I consider moderate smoking. It all seems related to heavy smoking or, put another way, abuse.

I prefer vaping. The taste is much better. I can do it indoors and most don't seem to mind. But I still enjoy smoking. When I no longer enjoy it, I'll set it aside. Easy schmeasy.

I do know when I went cold turkey for 8+ years, I gave myself full permission to smoke. And went 8 years without. Longer than pretty much all current vapers have gone without smoking. I think giving one's self full permission and not having guilt/remorse from trying one or 10 is key to moving forward. Vaping certainly does make the transition very easy. In some ways, I don't even see how a full relapse would be possible, unless a person gives up on vaping.

this is a MASSIVE improvement, and you should feel PROUD.

Not everyone can quit cold turkey,,,,,,,it takes some people months to give them up completely!

let's give ourselves a break!

Why?I have been waiting here for months to see you and other new vapers trying after vaping a while. Yeah If you had asked me what to do, I would recommend you to smoke one. This is seal man, you will not smoke one after that and you are not curious about what a stinky would smell and taste anymore. Well done my friend well done indeed.
