I don't know if anyone else has tried this stuff yet, but it works awesome!

http://www.shopredheart.com/default.aspx?PageID=62&CategoryID=119&ProductID=4475&RootCatCode=02000

I got the white of course. It is about the same diameter as the small silica wick that comes with the Bulli A2. I give it 2 loops, wrap my coil around it, trim the excess, and vape on. It's also not as "fuzzy" as cotton yarn, and it's alot easier to cut.

I was initially worried about it being "mercerized" cotton, but upon an extensive google search, it appears to be perfectly safe. The ph is completely neutralized and it is washed before it is ever prepared to leave the factory.

Never had the patience to wait more than a week, time gets very precious at 70. I do have some that has steeped for a year after filtering and seem to be ok, but can't remember what it tasted like a year ago so can't really compare...

damn man one year!? was it sitting the refrigerator? probably not necessary, gotta love the booze like that.

I'm 32 going on 93, so I feel you on the time thing. I'll be lucky to wait it out through the weekend lol.

i agree, i'm a 1.5 - 1.8 ohm on batt v chain vaper guy...maybe it's just me/devices, but i find that the rolled cotton, cheese cloth, or my new fav, 170 ss mesh with cheese cloth thread wrapped under the coil are the only things that wick/recover fast enough...but again, that's just me...

170 ftw!!!!!!

So I gotta question,

What do you all do for juice changes?.... roll a whole new setup? I have a defcon genesis and it has a rather large wick hole. So I some of that redheart (white) thread and doubled uptwisted together and crammed it in there, wrapped coil and 1/2 filled with VG/pg to test out.... I vaped that for a while to break in and see if it was worth filling with juice. vapor production was excellent so I drained and filled up with OMG 2 x flavor @ 24mg/ml and allowed to sit for several hours after shaking well. First hit nothing but vg/pg...kept vaping...until empty refilled same juice and now I am getting the slightest hint of OMG...did I do something wrong.....I don't feel this is rocket science but damn. What is going to happen when I want Different flavor....When just using SS wick when I changed flavors I just pulled wick burned dry and off to the races. now what will I have to do??

Really for me it seems like old flavors don't hold long in the cotton like they did in silica. I start dripping a new flavor and after like 4 or 5 drags the old flavor is gone.

Not I, but I may be a little unusual in that I vape a good amount of unflavored at least every so often (but at least once a day, on average lately a few times a day). That seems to "soak up" any lingering flavors and I just keep going. I certainly do also just finish one off and then put a new flavor in it. I haven't found there to be much more (if any) flavor cross-over time than with standard atties. I haven't tried any of the usual "sticky" suspects such as cinammon, coconut, or menthol in this.

This is on cotton balls in a Stardust.

Pretty simple, take my Quigsworth Hybrid and make 8 more atty's :D...each one hold 20 ml, will all be wicked and coiled...pull the mouth piece, snap out the atty and snap a different flavour in...I'm lovin' this thing...

Also, I should note, that as of the last couple weeks, I have not been able to vape anything but the Rawr Vapor Serum flavors. So that's coconut and menthol(4%) in every flavor.

Quigstick: SS mesh wick, coil area wrapped with thread from cheese cloth SS Mesh/Cotton hybrid wick - YouTube

Bluegrassloverstick: SS mesh wick, coil area wrapped in Cotton batton Mesh/Cotton hybrid wick Bluegrasslover's method - YouTube

Thanks so much for this tip, this is truely the best and cleanest and easyest ways there is to build a genissis atty. It works on both my LV and G Bell.

Cross-post from the Vivi Nova rebuild thread, but I thought it was appropriate here as well.

Thanks to all of the contributors to this thread. You all are a wealth of useful info and have improved my vaping experience 10 fold (not to mention you all are a riot!).

Got my order of 1/0 square braid cotton candle wick in today. Boiled it for 20 min and was impatient to try it out so I dried it in the micro. I set out to re-wick my vivi head and was done in less than 10 min including washing and drying everything. Wrapped a length of wick along side a thin paper clip. Ended up with 5 loops. Put it all back into the head, and though the wick was just a little tight in the grooves it seemed to fit nicely. Topped the coil off with a tiny piece of cotton roll then applied the silicon cap. Filled her up and let her sit for a few. The atty checked out at 2Ω. Started her out at 3.2v and have been slowly creeping up to 4.0v.*

So far, this has turned out quite nicely. The flavor seems neutral, if not just a tad muted, but its only been 20 min since I put it all back together. This has been my easiest rebuild to date. Much of that has to do with practice, but I have to give a nod to the candle wick for ease of use, just snip and wrap. I can't tell if the extra cotton roll on top is helping or hurting, but I'm going to leave it there while this setup breaks in. Would be great to get a week outta this one. Will report my findings as I use it for the next several days.

*Just an FYI for those that are curious. I did not use NR wire, nor did I double the legs, and I used Kanthal A1, 32 awg.

That candle wick is becoming very popular.

Amazon is probably wondering why sales of #1/0 100 percent cotton, unprimed and unleaded wick have gone through the roof.

Problem is the repeat sales will be kind of bad. 8 days into a candle wick Odysseus and I still don't need to replace it. That's double the time the silica lasted already. At this rate I'm thinking I'm going to get 12 days out of it without pushing it at all.

I guess I'm confused. I'm using the #2 box braided I believe. Should I try the #1? Good results but wondering if it could be better. Doing a double wick in the Penelope and Ody. Did anyone try the round candle wick I posted? %100 no lead, no bleach.
