What BJ said

My ONLY concern with mesh is, carbonized crap being aerosoled into my lungs on a chronic basis leading to a increased risk of cancer. Purely a hypothetical ...., but it does bother me (the idea I mean).

I torch my wicks after every tankful or two for this reason, hoping I'm eradicating everything but metal. Probably a pipe dream. And before you ask no they don't become brittle and disintegrate, maybe I have a special touch.

Number one thing I'm paranoid about these days is flavors to be honest. I can tell you why, but that's another story and likely requires 250K of education and an anxiety disorder to understand :vapor:

On my Vivi Nova, I do several very short dry burns to loosen the gunk, then blast it clean with a Waterpik. Obviously, a mesh wick, not cotton. Current wick and coil has been going for 2 months.

For silicas users, has anyone tried a similar concept of analog? Put a similar concept of a filter, to prevent inhaling some if the silicas. Doesn't need to be a big filter, jst something to prevent inhaling it.

yep, I have used a piece of 400 mesh, a piece of and analog filter, and a bunch of other tests, usually just stuff something up into the drip tip.

...pehraps a wick and a 'coil' in one..?

Exactly what I was thinking Cool...say in a CE2 you could make a 2mm size wick that ran through the cup and dropped down each side as per usual but attach your leads to each end of the drops, essentially run current through the whole wick...got to be honest I can usually predict how something may work from past experience but that????
