I've tried to keep up with this thread and have to say I'm more confused than ever.

I have tons of the materials you all have discussed, yet have not tried any of them because I have no idea where to start.

I have a feeling that others might feel this way too.

It would be helpful if there was a wiki page or something. :)

Ob:

pick a material, try it, draw conclusions, try the next material or configuration (thicker vs thinner wick, etc)

not trying to be mean, but that's all there is to it

there's no formula, because everyone has their own preferences, vaping style, technique, juice, etc

why havent' you tried the cheesecloth?

Ya nailed it Cyrus...this thread is about experimentation, we're rebuilding RBA's outside of the designers spec (some guys are rebuilding devices that where never meant to be rebuilt)...

There's just never going to be a comprehensive "Cotton Wick Wiki" with detailed step by step instructions that are guaranteed to work every time...it just doesn't work that way, far too many variables.

Add to that the fact that many of us have our cotton preferences, I'm a cheese cloth guy, some like the batton (rolled), others, strings, yarns and candle wicks...I can't get candle wick to work for me, others have no problem...I don't let it bother me, I simply note the fail (so I don't waste my time repeating it), rip it out, grab my Kanthal, a pair of scissors, some other type of cotton and...

No Wallflowers here ...we're not experimenting with weapons grade plutonium, it's cotton and kanthal, feel free to simply screw around, what's the worst that could happen?

"feel free to simply screw around"

Less complicated and less dangerous than experimenting with woman:D
