What's a Hyper SRT?

That's what they're calling the SmokTech rebuildable tanks

There's a V2 coming out that has a screw on base and screw on top. Would be better if they make one with a removable air chamber.

Hello,

Have been reading the thread and wanted to get others opinion on this organic cotton my fiance showed me. It is 100% organic cotton yarn, free from dyes or bleach. If possible could you take a look and let me know if this would work well as a wick?

Simply Cotton Organic Sport Yarn Knitting Yarn from KnitPicks.com - 100% organic natural & undyed cotton yarn

Also, do you think cotton or the bamboo works best. If bamboo does I will have her find me a suggestion for that as well.

Thanks

Sorry for the edit but wanted to check which size one is about two strands wound and the other maybe 4 strands.

lol got 8 of them and didn't even know, thought they were vivi genesis style tank. I saw the V2, started a couple of threads at the co ops and it looks like we will have a co op soon. One of these days I am going to get in trouble with all these new names.

It may not be your coil. How are your pinch points where the wick enters the head. If its a stock head, the 1/0 braid will be tight. Did you open up the slot?

I found that with cotton braid, the slot opening in the vivi head needs to be fairly precise and match to the braid width to optimize flow. Too tight you choke..to loose you flood. I would also suggest that you use BJ43's cotton overlay technique. It makes a world of difference.

I wanted to hear someone else say it but I had a gut feeling this is my problem. What I don't understand is others saying they are having no problems with this exact cotton wick. Will be ordering some new stuff. Thanks for taking the time to respond!

Where might I find this technique, youtube?

Jacob, yes.....that should work fine. I have some almost exactly like that. I'd suggest boiling it for 15 minutes or so (I boil mine then dry it in the clothes dryer.) I use two strands (I just fold it, wrap the coil, install it then trim it) and it works very well. I also got some 100% cotton embroidery thread from Michaels that works (IMHO) as well or better. Send your fiance to the sewing store. :)

EDIT: I got some Bamboo but I haven't tried it yet so I can't answer that. But I have several different types of cotton (yarn, crochet thread, embroidery thread) that are doing it for me. Next time I change my wick, I may try the Bamboo. What I've learned from getting a bunch of different 100% cotton types of materials is that you can use almost anything that's 100% cotton (organic is even better in my book) and make a good wick with it. I'd avoid dyes (get natural) but other than that, it's all good. I do boil everything first....just because.

When you make a new wick with cotton, it'll have a "taste" for just the first few vapes....just vape through it. I actually don't inhale for maybe 6-8 vapes. The taste goes away quickly then they're great wicks. Love 'em.

My latest setup with the short & long wicks seems to be doing better than the single was doing. Although I'm still getting an occasional 'off taste' hit; hope it's not this batch of juice, I made 200mLs of it.

Well, that setup didn't last much longer than the single wick. I set my SRT up with a SS wick, I haven't really given SS a good run yet. I'll prolly setup a CE2 with rolled cotton as a back up - and to check how my juice does on that; plus it's a lot easier to take apart a CE2 than it is the SRT.

Skrum, if it makes you feel any better I couldn't get #1/0 (or any candle wick mat.) to work without basically unweaving it with a pin (my first and last time doing that )...my Vivi Nova is my stand-by, when everything else is acting up like a spoiled brat device...file out the slot to 3mm, get your self some CC from the grocery store, count up 35-40 threads, one pin wrap your coil and lay another small piece of that just on top of the coil and done...yet to have that fail...then vape on that till you can get some Aunt Lydia's #10...7 strands of well boiled Lydia and heaven....

Really? Are you serious? I can do a 1 foot length in about a minute with bad hands and bad eyes. LOL
This here WOCW (wicked over candle wick) has been just phenomenal. 2.2 ohm, 3.6 volts and my Wife keeps walking through the room flapping her arms fanning the steam away. Next thing you know She'll be having me take it outside. LOL

Just thinking out loud here. But maybe some of us who can get there set ups working real good, Could rebuild somebodies set up thats not working so good. Not mentioning anybodies name. Cough, cough, Cyrus, Cough, cough, Vap. Cough, cough Tom, cough cough, Catt.:laugh: We could have like a adopt a vapor program. Whaddya think?
