Oh, BTW, my pup got neutered yesterday. Stopped at the CVS to pick up some peroxide to "clean the stitches" with and also picked up some of the cotton roll. Re-wicked a CE2 with it this morning. I broke the coil on the CE2 I had been using for the past 6 weeks which had been the best CE2 I've vaped in the past year; and I've only used CE2s for the past year. I had vaped on the CE2 that I've re-wicked with cotton while it still had the stock silica wick and with the cotton wick, it's now vaping just like the one I broke the coil on; if not better.

Well said Cyrus Vap.

It just easy and tastes better to me. And when I have a flair up of Modumust Fever, this will passify it a lot quicker than turning something on the lathe.

Modumust fever! I thought only wanna be modders like myself were afflicted, glad to hear that's not the case. Lucky I dont own a lathe...yet lol

How long did it take to break in TC?...for me the break in seems to be really device dependant...a new wick/coil in my Ody (essentially a CE2) and after an hour of vaping it's rocking...but for what ever reason the Lines seem way more finicky with a longer break in...I'm wondering if it has something to do with the horizontal wick/coil...which would seem to defy logic but alas...

btw, speedy recovery to pup pup :)

Break in? Oh, I don't know, maybe two vapes  :D. Really seemed fine to me from the start. I've vaped prolly a bit over a mL so far and still going good. I wet the wick with water to roll it thin enough to go through the coil; then carefully blotted it dry and let it set ~15 minutes before filling and vaping.
I've taken all the seals out of my clearo CE2s and drip down the side of the tube to fill, plus I can keep an eye on the coil. A very slight discoloring of the wick under the coil with my ADV of TPA peppermint (12mg).

Ok folks I have a couple of questions. 1. I have a Line V2 here, cotton balls, SS mesh, and 3 million feet of Kanthal--What next?
2. In 7 days I will hit the vape only 6 month mark, I am just realizing there are larger ce2s that can be rebuilt. What are the best ones I should be buying?
TIA.
BTW, I know #1 has been answered here, and a while ago I did read this whole thread, but I'll be damned if I can find it now.

Not going to cover the mesh, it's been done a million times on other threads but the best is here ( Genisis Line - Setup - YouTube )....however, cotton balls and a Line...this is where a lot of experimenting starts...it's all about nailing that sweet spot...you want a wick that's not too dense (won't wick), not dense enough (will over wick and drown your coil), not too big (wick hole will choke it), not to small (V2 will leak if on it's side)...you're going to make a lot of them, hope you got the jumbo pack of balls ...but you'll get it...I abandoned the "coil already in place" method, PITA...once you have what you think is the right wick, leave enough so you can fold over and double up the wick that will be under the coil...stick two thin pins into the wick hole once you have your wick in (one on either side) and do a firm coil wrap (when you pull the pins it'll be almost perfect)...

So weird Tom Catt. I have the same CVS product I'm assuming and it started with the worst cotton taste of all the cottons I've tried to date! I don't even have the patience to break it in lol. I think there is more than "taste is subjective" going on here. Maybe some of these batches aren't so sterile and have hand funk all over them

My bad, I wasn't clear with question #1. I am well versed on how to roll, oxidize and coil the line w mesh and Kanthal. My question was how to add cotton to the equation.

Your saying to insert a cotton wick with no mesh housing into my line? It doesn't shred inside? I prob should stop thinking and start rolling and see what happens huh?

Yup, that's all I've ever done without an issue...I put the mesh skin on the 2 wick "legs" the first time I built the V3 with cotton...but haven't since...doesn't seem to need it, in fact it impedes the wicking imo

Hey everybody, what about the CE2,3,4,..... I watched a 2 part CE? tank wars video on YT. Is that pretty much it and whats out there? I'm curious as to what devices you guys are using besides the Odys, during all this experimenting. I have 5 of the Vision ce2 tanks with the SScaps, and the long wicks. I was considering attempting to rebuild a couple these until I saw that video and realized there are larger versions that would be much easier to work with.

I use the ViVi Nova, it's a piece of cake to re-wick.

I think I'm giving up on genesis style attys for now and am going to wait for the Chalice to use on my bottom feeders. From what I gather it will be very similar to the Mark-T infinity. I think these are also very similar to Bulli style RBA's. My hope is to use cotton, batton, gauze or otherwise in place of the stock wick and was hoping someone here had some experience with these.

I'd be interested in how they are priced. The Mark-T is quite expensive.

I bought mine from COV for $11.99, and it's all I've been using for the past week. This thing is far easier to rebuild and use than anything else I've tried.

Here is a link, not sure how many he has left:

Vision Vivi Nova Tank System

(Don't forget the code "bigbuyer", I think it's 10% off, or 5%, can't remember...)
