I just got mine and they are NOT very rebuildable friendly (though not impossible). The vivi nova beats it for rebuildability but I have to say they perform extremely well out of the box.

(FYI, I'm talking about the revive.)
Thanks for the heads up rockinrobbie do you know if the coil on the revive is removeable i should of ask you before i wasted my money on these quess ill buy a vivi nova then they look easy to rebuild.

CE2s, phoenix, stardusts, they are all so rebuildable already, and tankable. Are these rebuildables really worth the money?

The option to use screw posts to secure the coil is nice, instead of relying on tucking or soldering, and that's attractive for sure. And they have a great look. But I'm not sure its worth the money ya know?

But worth it is one of those relative concepts lol. If I wasn't mod shopping I'd probably buy one just to have a visual to copy the design from.

Its more than that. Genesis style attys work differently than those listed; juice delivery is different, air is sucked differently. And you can taste a HUGE difference.
Yes, they are worth it. ;)

Day two with cottoned ody. I got a slight off taste opened the cap and it was dry. I mean dry no juice in there at all. Cotton is thirsty. Second tank now still going strong, if I can get at least 5 I call this wick a success in my ody and will only use it for ody.

I agree completely with cotton gauze in the Ody, my grandpa's '72 Fleetwood got better gas mileage with the A/C on but the taste and run time makes using cotton a no brainer in the Ody. Normally I got 3 "good" days out of a ceramic wick set up...the gauze tastes/wicks as good on day 5 as the ceramic does on day 2 plus with all the banging and popping going on in there I feel way better about using the cotton as opposed to inhaling all the ceramic shrapnel...but for what ever reason only the gauze though, I tried yarn, butchers string, cheese cloth (though it's a close second) but nothing beats the gauze...things that make you go hmmmm....

are you sure its not the vapor being thinner urquidezj? I mean, less juice being vaporized so you taste less? I didn't notice until I did some side by sides with silica in a well lit room with the same batt, same ohms, same juice etc. And like I've said its' only on CE2s that I have this issue.

@everyone: tell me about the improved taste and airflow on rebuildables please, enlighten a brother :) Is it because the housing is metal vs. plastic?

I don't know if its me, the way the nic hits is good, but the flavor seems kind of muted, slightly not much, but enough to be detectable vs ody wick. I still like it but I do notice a slight drop in flavor. I'm using sugar n cream cotton yarn.

I found the taste on anything other than the gauze a little...ya, muted...but I had to ask myself , is it muted or is it just different...I noticed a big difference when I started running the XC-116 over the Imeo supplied silica...I don't know it's such a "subjective perception is reality" type thing, but give the gauze a shot...there's a big difference between that and yarn (at least to me anyway )

Got to the fist aid section of your drug store and you'll find it by the slings and tensor bandages (usually)...it comes in rolls usually, pure, sterile cotton matt or some call it baton...I even used one of my wife's cotton balls she uses for her face goop:D

thanks! i do have plenty of sterile cotton sponges/ compresses which are made up of several layers of gauze, i believe. was wondering if those could be used .....

Sounds good, the trick to making a wick is to find that sweet spot of density...too firm a wick, you don't get a whole lot of anything (still doesn't seem to burn or dry hit though)...but too loose and it wicks way to much and your coil drowns...there needs to be some sort of gauze wick "firmness" scale developed:D

I've made dozen of them trying to get a consistency that works, a lot of trial and tons of error...or say screw it and use cheese cloth, it always works, but the taste isn't as good IMO

now why would i have though this might be simple??????

it appears nothing ever is, lol ......

I know right!...it's especially crappy when by fluke you nail it first time then all subsequent attempts don't quite rate...you're left thinking...it's the same device, same cotton, same kanthal, same resistance, same tightness of wrap, same coil spacing, etc...wth am I doing wrong!...the only variable left is wick density...and it's an important variable...I guess if you had a scale accurate enough you could measure how much to twist into your ideal wick by weight or...ok, OCD meds kicking in...I'll be fine in a bit :D

If you want to rebuild, get the vivi nova which is extremely easy to rebuild. The E1 Revives may be rebuildable (I may try) but it is not easy because the way it is designed the wire is soldered onto a metal plate.
