Nope...here's a hint, these things where everywhere, then on Christmas Day, in 1969 it all changed...

Boo wah!, notscared nailed it

to save you the google...Dec 25, 1969 Seiko released the quartz movement watch to the public...my other love, watches, I've got dozens of them

When you mentioned 1969, my first thought was a Pet Rock, but didn't seem likely....

Thanks everyone on this forum - I read all the way through 140 and I appreciate everyone's advice and purchased it all. I tried it all and what i think works for me is the 100% organic cheese cloth, the ss mesh, and the xc-116 sleeving (ceramic wick). This is what seems to work for me. I will switch back and forth between the cheese cloth and the ceramic wick. Thanks again!. Here is a pic:

You prefer the Line to Ody? I spent 3 weeks getting good w my line v2 and I'm getting twice the flavor and vapor out of my Ody than I ever could out of the line.

Such a good point...and with like everything new, it takes center stage, I got my Lines a month ago, I've had my Ody since there was Ody's...at first the Lines (both SS's, I sent my V2 back cause it was leaking, Del is sending me my 3rd SS, at my request, to replace) seemed the acme of vaping, and they are about as good as it gets, but this thread made me rewick my Ody (which had been sitting for a while) and I fell in love again...you know, there not unlike my kids, well built, solid stand up young guys, both screw up, piss me off and make a mess regularly, they are fundamentally different...and I love them both, do I have a favorite? nope, are they both awesome, yup.

odd analogy, sure, but I've had a couple cocktails, it's the weekend:D I think everything and everybody is great :p

My new DIY juice drip tester. It's a rebuilt phoenix with gauze threads. I put slots up the bottom of the tube to slide over the wicks then twist to pinch the wick to hopefully keep the test liquid from wicking out of the tube. The phoenix silicon top seal is like a funnel feeding the juice down to the wick. After testing a liquid, twist the tube, pull some new wick into place, cut off the used portion and it's ready for the next test. :vapor:

Damn cotton is too good. Even with the wick pinched off tight the juice still wicked throughout. Oh well, I thought it would work.

Since my taste tester was a fail I cut the wicks down and put a good tube back on it. This is the first phoenix I've completely rebuilt using cotton and it kicks .... I think this is the best hitting carto I've ever tried.

I have read most of this thread...certainly not all of it...although i'm working on it...The thought occurred to me, sorry if it's been mentioned, has anyone used Butcher's Twine? The stuff chefs use to truss chickens and turkeys and to wrap roasts? Seems like a perfect media and readily available. Any thoughts?

Has this thread run its course? Did Quigs get so plastered we all decided to give him the weekend off? I dont think so people, just because our Canadian friend may have a headache, doesn't mean the search for wicking perfection has come to a halt. Now that I got that off my chest I have news to report. Some of you may remember a couple of days ago I reported a strange incident where I returned home from the Drs office and found some gauze in my pocket. Well after rebuilding my Ody with at least 5 diff materials, including the original wick product supplied by COV, it appears as if I've found wicking perfection. The brand name is StarLine. Its called Sterile Gauze Sponges, 2"x2" 12 ply. It looks like cheesecloth. I cut it into quarters, took 1 quarter and rolled it as if rolling a cig. The rest of the process is well known, and basically I followed Quigs' video procedure. I am aware this is not really breaking news, but in this little corner of vaping utopia, this is a breakthrough. You may now all go back to whatever it was that you were doing before this brief interruption, and thank you for your time.

Very excited to try this method. I have made an appointment with my Dr. for Monday at 9:30. :)

Seriously though I am excited to try it out. As soon as my Ody hits the mail box I'm going to throw this wick I made out of 100% cotton candle wick. Shortly after im heading to buy your gauze.

Cheers,

Chris

If it's a 100% cotton, Give it a shot. If it has a off taste then you can try boiling it. Just remember to joose up your fingers before rolling.;)

well I actually went to the Doctors office friday and came back with no Gauze in my pocket. Didn't even think about it. I bought a 10 pack of 2x2 gauze at Family dolla for a buck um what 8-10 weeks ago. I still have 6 pads left.
To bad they hid all the syringes though.:):)
