Best so far is an OpusX in 151 proof rum. lol:D
and a cotton batten wick to stay on subject.

ETOH extraction huh? Going to have to try that, only done VG and VG/water myself

Love the use of the mesh

How do you use the filtered cig booze percentage wise?

I don't think the OpusX should be referred to as "cig"

"Fuente OpusX is one of the rarest cigars in the world. It is elusive to almost every enthusiast because of its limited production. Prior to 1990, the Dominican Republic was well know for its filler and binder tobacco. Growing wrapper tobacco on the island proved impossible due to the topography of the land and the wind. The wrapper is a vital component of any cigar as it contributes to most of the flavor. Carlos Fuente Jr. set out on a mission to be the first cigar maker in the Dominican Republic to successfully grow wrapper tobacco. With the help of cheesecloths to protect the tobacco from the elements, the first successful crop was turned out in 1992. This wrapper is matched with unparalleled vintage tobaccos for its filler and binder and was the first Dominican puro (it only contains tobaccos grown in the Dominican Republic) on the market.

OpusX was an overnight success. It consistently receives the highest ratings from industry publications and continues to be the pinnacle of fine cigars. Almost impossible to find, this cigar is widely considered the “best of the best." It is full-bodied and the aromas in each size are distinctly different, but the one characteristic each has in common is near perfect taste and quality. Nowhere in the world can a finer cigar be found. This cigar is referred to by aficionados as “an expensive addiction” because once this cigar makes its way into your humidor, you will never look at cigars the same way again."

As a former cigar smoker with a very long memory, you are absolutely right about the Opus. I only had the opportunity to smoke them twice. Far better than any cuban I ever smoked. Still miss that fine after dinner cigar. I believe I always will.

...yes, I agree: everyone's sold on cotton; Let's discuss this tobacco extract thing instead. ;)

I did one in VG, and it was OK. Cheap RYO though - wasn't the greatest smell when heated but it does add a nice boost to my tobacco mixes - I don't use it by itself. I also made the mistake of adding a touch too much vinegar. Good experience I guess though.

Definitely trying a nice cigar next time (probably in VG again...not the best idea to get me too close to a bottle of 151).

I know them well, from when they started here in Dom. Rep. The Fuentes came as immigrants from Cuba with little money and a dream. Still get a box of Opus X every month. really miss smoking them. But Opus X "Booze Juice" is the next best thing. Almost cried the first time I chopped one up..

Tried it in PG, VG, and distilled water with poor results. I think it needs the alcohol.

There are some bright minds here. I've posted a querry about batteries in the Battery Issues forum...no replies yet.

If any are well versed in IMR vs. Protected Li-Ion, I'll apprecaite your comments.

I really hate new cotton wicks, but after 3 ml they are great. At first when I tried cotton I almost gave up on it. Now to make a mod that will vape the first 3ml and break them in. Got a setup on a vivi nova that is so good I will probably cry when it pops. The best advise I can give is be patient and don't give up on any setup until you have vaped at least 3 ml thru it. The difference is unbelievable.

Yeah, it seems to me that once there's a little bit of build up on the coil, the taste improves a lot. The flavor seems muted until that happens.

I washed my short-wick-in-coil/long-wick-over-coil (SWICLoWOC :D) this morning just to take a look at the short wick and coil. Everything is looking fine after ~5mL

The one I am loving is the short candle wick in coil and batten cotton wick over the coil on a vivi nova. Vaping my OpusX booze juice and sipping a 20 year old Porto while watching the Olympics. Life is good....:D
