What kind of cotton do you use?
One guy on youtube said for higher VG he preferred 320 mesh. But then I have read others saying 500 is the bees knees...

I use "Rolled Cotton" from CVS Pharmacy; but any 100% cotton cotton balls will work the same. I just 'pull and twist' a wick out of the cotton.

I think you'll be happy with the 500 mesh. I too vape high vg and 325 & 400 mess didn't wick, only the 500 mesh would wick for me. Good luck with yours.
Oh...and I use #1 square braided and #3 square braided and 24 ply flat braided cotton. They all work well in different devices.

The concern is about micron-sized 'shards' and not so much 'dust'. OTOH, I use cotton mainly because it wicks a lot better than silica.
Yeah I can see that I guess, but do you think we actually "over load" our scavenger cells with these possible shards? I don't see how it would be possible short of taking a room full of dry wick material and bouncing around in said room for a few hours.
I think all the research and findings are more about guys out there with jack hammers (and the like) getting covered head to toe with the dust and inhaling an extreme amount. Not a few micron particles like what we would suck in if in fact we even do.

I've been playing with silica lately (SS mesh/3.5 mm silica hybrids, the only way I'll use silica btw) and here's what I've been finding...and I'm fully aware of the can-o-worms this may open
Silica wicks "faster" than organics, however...organics have a much higher capacity for holding more of a juice "reserve" due to it's swelling ability.
Of my dozen or so bf ERA/A7/Crapomizer mods I have 4 on mesh/silica hybrids for reasons of taste only (some of my juices just don't take well to organic wicks) but I have to squonk them constantly.

Funny how some had smoked the same stinkies day after day for 10, 20 ,30, 50 years Now we struggle vaping with different taste sometimes on a hourly basis. Sometimes I struggle with the taste of cotton with one flavor and switch to bamboo. It's ok for a while then i have to switch back to cotton. I think in a nutshell squonk or not, different wicks with different flavor on different days will always taste different to different vapors at different times.:>)

Right there with you. Got four Reos sitting in front of me right now and every time I squeeze that bottle I can't help but get a certain picture in my head (thanks for that).
The Reo forum has been quite randy of late and I'm sure some folks would take this ball and run wild with it. I would love to sit back and watch the mayhem but I do need to be able to show my face in there from time to time.
OMG!! Who makes this stuff up!! That really made me pee myself!!!! We'll see how loosely squonking is used in the forums now!
