finally found a needle to use to wrap the wick and best i can do is 1.9-2.0Ω. my meter is acting flaky though. but of all the times i have tested it thats where it settled. going to try and wrap a double wick and see how much it changes.

Ω Ω Ω...ha, alt 234 works awesome...and all those times I typed ohm...there's 20 mins I'm never getting back![]()

an observation, the hemp seems to give off a "sweeter" flavor and good vapor but has a strange taste to it. vaping next to a Vivi Nova mini with the stock wick the mini gives a cleaner flavor. i will let it sit over night and try it again tomorrow. so far, not impressed but it could be i have the wire wrapped a little to tight. i will wrap another one and try to not wrap it as tight.
Mylt1, I think you should have a look here.yep, that is what i bought. i have wrapped another wick and coil and this time it is at 2.4Ω, right where i want it. at this point i am almost vaped out. LOL. been doing side by side non stop since i wrapped that first one and am on overload right now. i will take a brake and use it again in a little while. i have vaped it so much now my normal mini taste funny. i was vaping so much i got light headed. LOL.

I'm under the impression that you're wrapping the wire directly around the wick, in fact, while BJ43's recipe for vivinovas is to make loose coils and then to insert strands of hemp into the coil.
If I got it right, the idea is to leave room enough for the hemp wick to swell in the oval coil, filling it when wet... not sure if you're going to get good results with the wire directly wrapped on the hemp, 'strangling' it...
Yes Mylt,
This page shows you how you build an Oval Coil, wrapped around two tooth picks, that BJ designed for things like the Vivi Nova, where space is cramped. I was going to get to this later, but xpen beat me to it. He's using 28 AWG there, but the procedure will work fine for you. Beege is into really Low Ωs!!! .psssssssst ..But he also gets to spread the Coil across more Wick like that, with lower resistance 28g being able to make more wraps, which is more to the point.
This Oval Coil would let you fit 2 (3, or maybe 4) strands in the Coil, although you may have to modify the Silicone Cover to accommodate it. Looks like he has 6 in his. Something else to play with, while working on getting your 2.4 Ωs. And notice how close the Coils are... quite tightly wrapped. Again, that's 28g, so the wire is fatter than your 32g, but you get the point.
THANKS XPEN!!! .![]()
Just to clarify BJ43 is not into very low ohms and if any coil of mine is below 1.8 ohms I redo it. The reason for the oval coils was to be able to get over 2 ohms of 28g into a vivi, and yes six wraps (pretty tight in a vivi) and I have now gone to 30g.
I finally got some 28, 29, and 30 gauge kanthal. What a world of difference it makes. Not only does it vape much better (I'm running about 9-10 wraps on an ~ 1/8" wick) but it makes re-wicking SO much easier with the stiffness of the 28-29 gauge, and that freakin' LOG you're wrapping Kantahl around. I've had to cut back on wattage a bit because it vapes so much that it was hurting me. I'm sold.
I tried the hemp and AL but, to me, cotton batten is still the winner. YMMV.

AGA-T2: I think will be a good option
