Wick outside your microcoils

I saw this blog post mentioning a kayfun build where the cotton wick completely outside of a microcoil and figured I'd give it a shot.
I already had a 1.5 ohm dual coil setup in my scar so I just took the wicks out and stuffed some cotton all around the coils and soaked it with some Mellow Mellange that arrived today.
Sort of a rebuildable carto now. Holds a lot more juice. I'd imagine it's a bit trickier to cover horizontal coils completely and clear the airholes in the scar than in a kayfun, but all I can say is yummmmmy clouds. Nom nom nom...



Anyone else tried this yet?

A lot of people have been getting good luck with this style setup.

I lay my coil on top of silica and it gets great clouds. And yeah that Dragon Coil thread has lots of info on people's builds

Make sure you are not covering the whole coil or atleast the middle is completely open with no wick blocking a straight airpath through the coil.
