Ok so I just recently picked up my first rba, an RSST like most seem to start with, and I've been looking, or rather trying to, at the differences between wicking materials. Silica, cotton, SS mesh, or ceramic. If there is another please let me know as I'm really getting into rebuildables quickly since I got my rda about a month ago. The problem is that I can't find a resource that just kind of stacks them against one another. So, here's my plan: let's discuss it here and now. Once I have adequate information across the board, I'm going to try and assemble it into a kind of "Wicking 101" so that the next newbie to try and step up may have an easier time of it than I am, and certainly many of you had before me.
Apologies to all if this has been covered thoroughly I just can't seem to find it. Further apologies to the mods as I have a sneaking suspicion this probably belongs in the rebuildables section, but I wasn't quite sure as many. myself included, rebuild Protank/Evod coils even they aren't really rebuildable systems and it's really just about the wicking material.
