When I sit my 510 down on the desk I always sit it down on it's side. I thought it might help the wicking if I stood it up on end letting gravity pull the juice down to the end towards the atty. I just crumpled up a piece of aluminum foil with a piece of paper towel inside to help prevent battery scratching. It's helped. Especially useful when you can only get a pull every 15 min or so...working in the shop, kitchen etc. The times when you can only pull a drag every once in a while. A juice glass, floral arranging foam for the ladies, anything would work. The foil conforms to any size or shape. I suppose the atty would flood if left for a long time or overnight but I haven't had a problem yet during the day. It's not the 'final answer' to slow wicking but it's helped me. Hope it helps someone.

No I haven't. Only the straw mod and since I keep fish I have plenty of fluval polishing pad material which I use. Next time I go to the market I'll see if they have the pyramid type bags, I'm sure they do. tnx!

I've seen your post on the straw mod not wicking. My experience has been different on that but I did try the PTB mod and you should at least try it but it didn't work that well for me. Once you get the material free from the tea, try dipping an end in water. You'll see that no 'wicking' takes place - iow liquid doesn' rise on the material like it does with even a paper towel and polyfil/fluval. It _does_ hold the liquid and from what I can see that is the primary attribute although there have been many reports of it leaking out - it was the case with me as well - and for me it ran dry much faster than the regular filler. I think any 'wicking' has more to do with what angle the ecig is held and of course gravity does the job, and then the PTB will 'hold' it there once it's there but it really doesn't 'wick', in my observations.

Plus when mine would dry out overnight it was as stiff as a stick in the morning. I tried only the 'folding mod' not the 'loose' or 'shredded mod', although I did try shredding one to see if it would wick water and it doesn't - it holds to the level that it was dipped.

I should have said that I understand how the straw mod works for allowing air to escape for filling and not add to wicking capability.

Others I'm sure will disagree, it's all personal preference here as far as what you want out of it. I like vapor and flavor. Throat hit doesn't do a lot for me.

That said, no matter what goodies you want out of it, we all want performance (we want it to do what we like). To me, that's sucking on the thing and getting a lot of flavor and a lot of vapor. I don't like having to top off or drip unless I want to. I want wicking and I want to put a cart in and finish it before I have to put another one in.

Maybe this is the Holy Grail?

Perhaps. :) But yeah, I'm with you on the above. What I meant is that I saw an earlier post by you on the wicking thing with the straw mod. I think it still helps that out too but if you leave the filler in too long then everything gets stuffed up. Personally I'm waiting for the continuous drip device that has a 3ml bottle as part of the mod.....

That's what we all want.

The problem is the variance of the device and the user, and the combination of the two. If you vape too often you will lose all wicking capability no matter how good your filler is. If you have too large of a cart (like the 801) you simply won't be able to dry out the bottom part of the cart without giving that liquid the time to flow the 3/4 of an inch or so it needs to, to get to the atty. Then there's the filler material itself, which all of them are mediocre in my opinion, there's not one filler material out there that's perfect. So many variables.

This was the biggest reason for me to start dripping. Is it a pain? Yes, but just a little bit, I've had worse things to deal with. :p But at least this way, I know when the flavor goes from good to ugh, it's time for more liquid.

Now if I had 3 Janty Sticks, I could vape on it until the atty gets dry, turn it up like you do the PV in your picture, so the liquid can begin moving down towards the bridge, pick up another Janty Stick and vape, and just rotate between them.

I just don't wanna spend 240 bucks for that luxary! lol
