Hi, I am going to try and build my own coils. I did this over the weekend but did not make the coils at first just tried to put cotton in old coil. Then I did play with winding my coils and using 100% cotton. I looks like yarn. We tried to use a few of these and I guess I have to much cotton in them as you can't pull vaper threw them. So my question is this, I also have silica wick is this bad to use? I have read in some posts that it is glass. I hope you all can help as you all have before. Thank you all.

Have you tried using less cotton? You can use silica wick - some prefer it, some do not. You will have to be careful of the same issue that you are having with the cotton- to much or to little silica will cause problems.

Hello Susan,

When I started my first build, I only did 100% cotton and It wasn't bad at all, ya good flavor!
My 2nd build I just wanted to try with silica and was not noticeable with flavor, intact maybe even better, but some more sharp taste, all the clearo's do have silica, it's strong and I do have very good results with, I don't think silica is bad to use, else we should have known by now.

The latest Ive heard is Bamboo, it's easy to work with, but Ive also heard many stopped using it, it seems to give some "bamboo" taste, but I never tried it so I don't know.
