I just checked again, dry as a desert below and vaping like its supposed to.

Heh,if its the way it want to work,so be it...change flavor and let sit 6-8 hrs...got the ody while I wait,I am not desperate :)

Air Lock. After you fill it, prime it like this, close the air control completly, open the juice control and suck gently like pulling on a drink through a straw, really gently without pessing batt button!!, too much and it will flood, then close the juice open the air and vape away after a while you will start to loose vapor,at that point open the juice very slightly and carry on vaping but keeping the air control tight helps pull the juice through, if it starts gurrgling slightly and loosing vapour it is flooded so back off the juice it bit or close it and carry on vaping opening it a bit later, you can loose vapour if it is flooded or if it is running dry so you need to keep it at a happy medium in the middle there, it is fiddly but great when you get to know it, you are better to keep vaping and adding juice as it start to taste slightly burnt rather than flooding it, cus you can always add juice but e=when it is flooded you have to shut off and start again, but the symton you describe were air lock and to eradicate prime like I said, but do the prime straw suck thing without pressing the batt button, well all that above is ho i do it anyway, the reason it works after leaving it so long is that it will seem through in the end but you dont want to have to wait for that!!
Good luck

martinc,

Take into consideration that most of the people who fail to master the UFS (and sell them) are those who tend to make too large of adjustments in the Juice Control. Thus causing flooding, then they turn it back too far causing dry hits/burned taste. When doing this they keep oscillating around the proper setting without ever finding it.

Another thing to think about is that the Air Control and the Juice Control work hand in hand together. Which means they both have to be adjusted to some extent to control two different variables. For example; each person has a preference to what kind of draw they like. But, a tight draw tends to bring in a larger amount of juice with a smaller adjustment. While an airy draw will bring in less juice with the same adjustment. You also need to take into consideration the variable viscosity of the different blends of juices (PG, VG, H2O, Alcohol, etc). So if you change the blend, the previous settings will not work properly.

When doing the adjustment (after establishing what kind of draw you like),

1.) add a drop or two of juice via the mouthpiece,
2.) adjust the juice control a very little bit, and I mean a VERY little bit.
3.) vape.
4.) if you get a dry hit after a few vapes then repeat steps 1-4 until you find Nirvana.

Ok,in a nutshell:

Upon refilling,close air,close juice,refill--open juice a bit,prime,close it---open air,vape till more juice needed,open juice a bit,adjust to taste,vape away.

10-4

Got some practice using the ody on a GGTS with full air control,I understood rather quickly what 1/10th of a turn can do :)

Yet,with all those invaluable advices I fail to understand fully what happend during the night...I guess ninjas came and fixed it for me...

<----------...or maybe he vapes while I am asleep?

If it was a new atomizer in your UFS, it could have had something to do with absorption rate. When you draw liquid into a new atomizer from the bottom without priming it previously with a couple drops of juice, the juice initially goes up and into the cup with a little of it going into the surrounding wick material. It may have taken the overnight sitting time in order for the juice in this case to fully wick into the surrounding wick material from the cup area.

I usually soak new atties in a 0 nic/0 flavor PG/VG blend then blow them out prior to using them in a UFS to make sure there are not any kind of wicking issues. Granted the first few hits are rather bland with no flavor or nic...
