Just taking a guess, but i think you can rule out the rm2 as the problem. What you described of the threads towards the end indicates that at some point , the previous owner cross- threaded a carto or something in there and cut up your 510 connector. You may have to send this one rob's way to have a new one put in. Pm to redeyedancer for more info. He is great about taking care of his babies, and quick too. To confirm your suspicion, this much play is not normal, the rm2 sits tight under normal circumstances.

If you are using the O-ring that came with the RM2 go ahead and tighten it down without fear. When I started using the O-ring all my problems went away, as I had no fear of over tightening because the O-ring won't let it happen. Go ahead and tighten it until there's a lot of resistance.

PS: Never do that without the O-ring.

I agree, that's way too much wiggle. Even "flicking" it into position when tightening, mine don't move that much. I also think it's NOT the RM2 (you could try a 510 atty to test that), you have a problem with the REO. It really sounds like there's an issue with the physical connection to the REO, I 2nd the idea of PM'ing Robert.

Thinking on this a little more, if you have leaks with the o ring in, it must not be getting tight enough for the o ring to do its job. juice can't get past the outside of the 510 connector. I replaced my o ring with one about twice as thick as suggested by superxdrifter, and it put my air hole right at twelve with firm pressure to tighten. Still, mine never had wobble like that while putting it in. Good luck, I know that has to be frustrating!

Your 510 connection may be a little stripped. I've had this on 2 of mine that have taken some nose dives on the atty. so that can be rectified with a trip to Rob for repair or you can try a 1.5 mm oring the one that comes with it is 1 mm. The rm2 cap shouldn't unscrew the atty base. Put the 1.5 mm oring like what is in the bottle cap and screw it down to the same position. If the threads are too screwed it won't hold if they are ok it will. If alls good vape away :). Good luck with it :)

Please remember what Robert said:

Great vid Russ you are getting some nice clouds with them micro coils . The only thing I would say is leave the cap on the rba as your screwing your atomizer on push the power button . As soon as your atomizer starts to sizzle you dont have to go much further . One of the reasons I dont send the atomizers with big o rings is people cant get there mods to fire or I am always afraid they will screw it on to tight and over compress there gaskets . With care your method works great thanks for sharing . The mod comes with a 1 mm o ring a 1.2 or 1.3 mm o ring would be perfect if your getting leaks with a 1 mm stock o ring

You dont have it threaded on enough . There is no guaranty the hole is going to line up perfect for each person . Your connection could very well be worn out but you need to thread the atomizer at the very least 1/2 to 3/4 of a turn from the moment you feel resistance . This will very from mod to mod depending on the condition of the gasket in the mod . Your welcome to send it to me I can replace the 510 connection if its needed

Just out of curiosity, could someone adjust the 510 connection manually with a large flat head screwdriver or does it need to be pressed out?

I'm with Rmcgloth on this one. My first thought was bad threads in the 510. I've seen the "wiggle" on other mods and it was because the threads were boogered up and/or worn out. Sounds to me like a new connector is needed. Rebuild kits are available. It is not expensive nor difficult to do.

BTW, your vid is an excellent way to get help with a problem. Nothing is lost in translation when you can see the problem on camera. Bravo!

Thanks everyone. I think it is a combination of worn, possibly damaged threads on the 510 connection and that I wasn't screwing it down far enough. I tried a couple cartomisers and had the same results. I had read the post from Rob that Karen quoted a few posts up and that is what I was shooting for when screwing down the atomizer. I didn't want to blow out the gaskets in the connection. I've tightened it down some more and it seems to help some. This is my only Reo at this point, so sending it in and being without it isn't going to happen right now and not until I get a backup Grand.

Where you were trying to place your air hole is exactly where I like mine to be I had to use a thicker oring to get it to sit right I used the one from my bottle cap I believe it is a 1.5mm thickness doing so will help you stabilize the atty considerably my mod when I got the atty had a loose threads on the 510 and it worked for a while later after another drop or 2 I had to get a new connection installed so don't drop your mod on the atty and you will hopefully be golden

Thanks, I've been toying with the idea to adjust my 510 connection so that I don't have to use an o-ring to get it exactly where I like my RM2. I'll probably hold off for now until I've got all of my other projects sorted out.

When one of mine was really loolse I used a couple wraps of propane teflon tape to snug it up it worked great
