Since my boge rev2 was falling apart on me and I don't have the heart to slice up my vmod, I decided to use the dna I impulsively purchased in my own wood case. I have been dremmeling away at it for the last 2 days, and I think I'm finally happy with the shape of the case. However, upon doing some reading (I'm very unfamiliar with all of this wiring business), I realized the pot I had purchased and made a spot in my case for was.. gasp... a stereo logarithmic pot. I figure fine, I can just use one of the pots on the disk (??), and I've figured out which of the 5 leads to use, but.. being that the recommended is linear, will I be ok using the logarithmic? It will just give more of a sweep to the power adjustment, right? All I will have to do is turn it.. very slowly.. when it reaches high power.. right?
Also, it only handles 0.5 watts. Would that be an issue? On the dna 12 spec sheets, there is no mention of any limitations outside of 1-10k being desirable.
Before I do anymore damage, I'd like to make sure I don't need to order a new one. Radio-shack only stocks these any giant pots, so I'd have to order online and.. wait..
I'll post pics and what not when its done. I pulled the needle feed center pin out of the boge and mounted it into an old ego head, and used a cut down sleeve sealed with a doubled up carto condom to make the drip well. Already tested, no leaking, and no shorting.
