Will DNA20/DNA30 mods render mech mods obsolete?

Digital and Mechanical mods will both have a place in my collection. Digital mods are convenient, powerful and easy. Mechanical mods are exquisite and fully manual. When I am lazy I will pick up the digital mods, when I am enjoying myself and not rushing, I always pick up my mechanical mods.

Although it is fun to make the comparison of digital and analogue photography.

dna30 cant come close to the 100+ wattage of my mechs builds, so no, not even close, now if u said the gi2, i would have to say who knows, but dna30? thats a joke, its no where near the wattae output of most of my mechs/builds, plus most of my builds wouldnt even fir e on the dna30. 100+ wattage boards, now that is going to be an interesting fight.

mechs obsolete? heck the dna will only push 30, and that's only speeding in a school zone with kids present. lol. yeah, great consistent 30 watt vape does dna supply, but will blow a circuit if pushed to 55. lmao.

30 is fine for the majority of my vape, quite excellent to be exact!!!!, but some times I just got to go 75. Yeah, there are regulated mods out there that can do that, but don't have possession of one,..... yet.

Vape is Great, Vape is Good, now we thank thee for more joules.!! please. lmao.

As much as I love my mech, I think it's inevitable that chipsets will eventually be produced that make mechs obsolete. Sooner or later you're going to see 150-200 watt chipsets in affordable price ranges, and at that point mech mods will be viewed much the same as vinyl records. They'll always have a sense of nostalgia but will eventually be inferior in terms of performance against a regulated mod that can match the voltage and amp draw of virtually any coil build on a mech, and do it with safe battery protections in place.

Just what I need, a 200 watt chip set to vape at 8 watts.

In terms of what performance? 20w mods did not make mechs obsolete. 30w mods didn't. Now we have 100w + mods, and mechs are still not obsolete. Will 150-200w mods make a difference? The people who currently vape at 100+ watts is at best a negligible minority.

For a lot of people, size and pocketability is of bigger importance than blowing ridiculously large clouds in public while wielding 2-handed box mods.

What may make mechs less desirable is when batteries and electronics get smaller than current generation mechs; at a competitive price.

When I can have a regulated mod the size of a current 18350 mech or smaller, without sacrificing any capacity, I'm all over it. That would require breakthroughs in battery energy density... and would most likely leave us with the choice between such a mod, or an even smaller mech mod. Same voop, different wrapping.

All it takes to get a great vape is a battery, a switch/button and a heating element. If you want additional safety, add a fuse.

Eventually you'll be able to get a 200 watt regulated mod the size of a Gripper.

It's inevitable. The more popular subohming gets the greater the demand for just such a mod. It's just a matter of time before someone makes a product for that market. Even if only 1% of people who vape will want one, at the current rate of growth that market would still be in the millions in just a couple more years.

And with the current price of original mech mods anyone who can mass produce just such a device and sell it in the $100-$150 price range would make a fortune, especially if the governments ever start cracking down on clones.

I'd get one of those. It better not have the Provari idea of One Button To Rule Them All, tho. Can't imagine scrolling through 200w in 0.5w increments just to get one notch lower :p

The technology is quite far from having either the electronics or the battery capacity / discharge capabilities in that small a size, tho. So in one way (no offense!) it is like saying flying cars will replace ordinary cars. It's bound to happen. But there's no telling when.

As much as I love my mechs, I'd ditch them all the moment some definite replacement comes out. Current VV/VW just isn't it. They don't offer anything I want, and still make gear a whole lot bigger while not doing so.

Skip to 6:50 in the video and hear it from RIP himself.
I'd say this conversation is now over.

roflmfao!!!! Yeah, if I have to watch Rip, yeah end of conversation fer sewer. Rip is the last guy I would choose to watch, to learn anything. Last vid of his I watched made me not want to buy what I was searching for, and I didn't, bought something Todd demonstrated instead. lmao.

Not that I know the guy, but I think RIP and I disagree on the fundamentals of vaping and what makes a setup good or not. RIP doesn't seem to mind sucking on a mod the size of a brick that screams LOOK AT ME I AM A VAPING GOD! I actually do mind. So, our opinions on whether or not VV mods make mechs obsolete may differ somewhat and be based on different perspectives altogether.

Another little thing we disagree on is to what extent a 20+ minute video should be edited into one single, very long sentence by making edits every 3-5 seconds. :p

How's that for keeping it civil, eh? ;)
