I was a 40-year smoker, and I'm coming up on 4 months of vaping with no analogs. Last week when we were on vacation, I decided to try a cigarette - I had to know if I was really done with them. I had quit for about a year a long time ago, and I remember that first cig after such a long layoff was the greatest thing since sliced bread. So I lit one up, and had to put it out after 3 drags - it was absolutely putrid! Acrid, almost greasy - it took a while to get the rotten taste out of my mouth. I am glad to have that behind me.

I wonder if this is going to baffle or gross out those of you who are so sworn-off that the taste and smell of analogs, but--

I'm getting more and more earnest in my gradual quit, just four cigarettes up to this hour (when normally I'd be hitting on about #20 or so about now). Don't know for sure when/whether I'll get to permanent zero but, if I do, one thing I can't imagine not missing is... fresh after-taste. Seriously! Especially when lighting up in the car after a long time without (even after a day of fairly regular vaping), I've never realized how much I enjoy the taste inside my mouth--even to the extent of licking that residual flavor off my top teeth. The lack of tar associated with vaping (which in all other respects is, of course, a good thing!) makes that sensation something that I guess can't be reproduced.

I guess when I'm over that, I'm over it. Is that gross? Is that normal? Is that both?

While I have never missed a cig after taste for me what I missed was the difference in thickness in smoke vs vapor. The thing is nic is only an element in smoking there are wta and moais in smoking as well and the effect of them not being in vaping affects people differently the smoking addiction actually has different addictions for different people as well.

So it seems to me you like the taste of tob as do I. The funny thing is cig tob isnt even good tob.

So if you like the taste of tob you might want to try snus which to me is very good tob and I like better than vaping. If you want to try snus I wouldnt recommend camel or marlboro and get either Thunder Ori or ettan both of which have very good tob flavors. If you would like to try these they are available at www.getsnus.com they actually cost way less than vaping and dont require mods, batt charging or attys. Dont get me wrong I like vaping when it works but I love snus and it always works.

I'll echo Brewster on this. When I started vaping, my cigarette intake plummeted from 30-40 a day to anywhere between 5-10 a day. It gradually started back up to the point where I was basically smoking a pack a day again. Two weeks ago I discovered Camel Snus and slowly got myself informed about traditional Swedish snus. There are 4000 +/- chemicals other than nicotine in a cig and it seems to me that if one is addictive it's reasonable to think that some of the others might be as well. Body chemistry is a tricky thing.

I've been vaping and snusing (still way cheaper than buying smokes) for about two weeks now and my cig intake has stabilized again at around 8 per day. Some of them, like the one in my car before heading into the office and the two at the end of the night while I'm out with the dogs seem like more muscle memory than physical addiction. After vaping and snusing in the evenings, I don't really "want" the cigarettes. I've just been doing it for so long it's sort of like second nature. I know that in time, vape and snus are going to win for me. I don't know that either one of them on their own would be able to get me away from Marlboro, though. Quitting, cutting down, or changing is different for all of us... Best suggestion I have for anyone is find whatever combination works for you and do it. :D

I have been smoking since I was a teen (28 years) I have been hitting almost 3 packs a day for the last year or so. No need to lie about it, I was telling people 2 packs, but it was really almost 3 and it was embarrassing to an extent. I would buy two cartons a week and by time the next paycheck was in I was off to buy 2 more cartons.

I am a police officer and my worst time was sitting in the patrol car with idol time. I have a 510 with flat tips and just keep it in my mouth and chew on it constantly. I go through a tip a day doing that, but oh well.

I have had my 510 for a week yesterday. I was on red 100 analogs and for the first day or so didn’t want an analog at all. I guess I smoked maybe 2 packs in the last week and that is dang near a miracle for me. I have been experimenting with different juices and have had the 11 mg. If I am being honest, I ordered some high nicotine juice today 24mg. to give it a try. I find myself missing the TH and I am hoping the higher nic level will help me with that. I have been chain vaping to stay off the analogs and I am starting to contribute that to not getting enough nic.

Anyway, I get a little long winded and this is my very first post here. But I DO understand you missing the analogs as I think I can relate to that aftertaste very well.
