There are a couple ways to tell evod clones.

Some clones dont have the tapper in the top silver ring under the mouth piece.
Clones usually only have only 2 air holes
Some clones only have one o-ring on the base
Real Kanger does not make white, orange, gray(not stainless) or light purple. So if there are that color, there clones.
All the real Kanger evods I received came in clear candy type wrapper.

Mt baker vapor when in stock sells real Kanger pretty cheap.
My Vapor Store also sells real Kanger

Hope this helps

Edit: What are the differences you noticed with yours?

For starters, Kanger coil heads will have the resistance value laser engraved on the base stem. "2.0Ω" and so on.

Kanger base stem lock pins... the very bottom bit that presses into the white rubber seal and locks the coil tails in the base stem... that will have a taper or radius on the diameter, while many of the fakes I've seen will be straight... one less step not taken.

On some, the plating is... for lack of a better word, less "shiny". As if the base metal is less smoothly finished prior to plating.

For all I know, some of the above could be on fakes now. They don't screw around when it comes to knock-offs. They build identical copies that look the same but cost less by way of lower quality materials... you may not be able to tell with a visual inspection.

Unless you have a dial or digital caliper or micrometer, the rest is of no value because you can't accurately measure. I'm not even sure I can help with measurements anymore because I tossed all the fake stuff in the trash and didn't write it down.
It's kinda moot anyway because we're talking 0.10mm variances that in actual use may not amount to a negative characteristic.

This. Mt. Baker always states "You are buying genuine Kanger". They don't pull any punches.

Thanks ye all __
one of mine is now rusting at the window view port on the edges of the metal, and a light protective clear film is coming off.
The other says evod bcc on the bottom base cap, and the finish on it is not a clean appearance if you look at it closely.
both are in ss "look" finish. they are only 1 and 2 weeks old also
the coils on both say 1.8 and they look to have what resembles a tiny release type gizmo clamp mechanism, whatever thingy lol!
I just bought juice from MBV and they were out, I intended to buy some from there.
Thanks for that info, good to know

Well, you obviously have your answer, but the easiest way I've found to tell the difference is - as AquaJoe stated - color.

Kanger only makes their EVOD products in 7 colors - Black, Stainless (Silver), Dark Purple, Dark Blue, Pink, Yellow (Gold), and Lime Green.

Kanger EVOD Official Colors

If you see that the place you are purchasing from offers any other color besides those 7, you can be fairly confident that all of the EVODS they carry are clones.

It's tricky. I have bought EVODs from myvaporstore, mtbakervapor and discountvapors and all three were different at various times - although all three state they are genuine Kanger products. I've also bought some from fasttech - which did not say they were genuine.

Some have the BCC marking, some don't. Some have 2 air holes and some have 3 and some are more or less shiny than the others. Some have a better tactile feel than the others and some have sharper edges than the others - but ask me which is the genuine article and I will have to say I have no idea.

The only conclusion I have is that Kanger occasionally change up their manufacturers and I got some from different suppliers.

I can say that the 'genuine' EVODs vape almost exactly the same as the clones I got from fasttech. I will also say that the EVODs from fasttech had a machine oil smell before use - I always wash mine anyway so no big deal.

The vaping experience was identical between all four vendors though.

A five pack for $23 is a pretty good deal. Too bad the shipping tacks on another $24

There are actually eight colors. They also make a red one, which pairs up beautifully with a red Evod battery. It's one of my daily use setups and people always ask about it.

They do NOT make a white one, so if you have a white tank, it's fake.

I put this in the Clearo forum last month.

So if I were to buy some evod clones (I want one in white and gray)...anyway will genuine evod coils work with the knock-off tanks?

The old style with the short, stubby airflow tube will. The new style with the different airflow tube design may, or may not. Some of the clones have airflow tubes in the tank that are longer than those of the original, and the new coil heads don't work well with those clone tanks.

I think Kanger changed the coil head design on purpose to foil the counterfeiters.
