Max is pretty cute, isn't he? Not bad for a throw away dog sprung from puppy prison for being a shoplifter as a baby of about 10 months. He has a following here in Houston...lol....we were in Petsmart a few weeks ago, and i heard someone calling his name. Turns out it was someone who had heard of the giant red Husky from a friend of theirs who had met him at the park. People don't recognize me...they recognize Max!
Not having seen a picture of you, it would be hard for me to say that you stand out in a crowd, but Max definitely does. Me? I try to be in shadow in a crowd, like I'm not really there at all. You wouldn't think that based on my posts, huh?
See? I would never have guessed that based on your posts. Here, we can seem outgoing, even if we're not really in real life.
I was on forearm crutches because of my knees. Now they both have been totally replaced with steel joints. Better... but not perfect and there is still some pain, but it is easier to live with now. As the old saying goes, "If I'd known I was gonna live this long, I'd've taken better care of myself." Sadly, they cannot fix my spine with a simple operation like the knees.
I had a Great Pyrenees ("Cowboy") who was like that, but he's been gone a few years. I miss him. The two Pyrs we have now play with Lannie occasionally, but they seem to think I should be treated with respect for the Oldt Guy. The inside dogs (1 Dobie, 1 Belgian Malenois) don't "play" with me at all - they just get in trouble all by themselves regularly.
Online is much easier for me than real life. I'd like to be more outgoing, but at this age, I doubt it...lol....Max listens to me, but waits for Jim to "play"... He usually knows the difference between work time and play time...and if i hit the floor, hes right there to help me back up.Blizzard does NOT play, it is beneath him.
I was pondering what I just said above and must do a partial retraction. There is a personality trait in here that can be induced to become extremely extrovert: Teacher mode. When I have to stand up at the white board and explain something (usually engineering or science), I can get going almost as good as one of those televangelist guys. And it doesn't bother me to be the center of attention then. But after the "performance" is over, I drift back in the shadows.
That I can do....lol..I made a good "front" for the rescue, because I could hide behind Max, and because he's so stinking cute, everybody wanted to love on him!
..and no, I can't help ya there with the pronounciation...
