Winding New Coil

I'd like to wind my own coils for a long wick C5, I'm thinking 5 coils of Kanthal, I would like approximately 1.8 ohms resistance, any recommendations on wire gauge and wick material? I'd like to produce a better coil than those that are sold ready made, any and all recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

I am not familiar with the C5 and so I can not give you any specific advice when it comes to rebuilding it but for 1.8ohm I would suggest 30ga kanthal. As for wick material it's mostly down to preference but seeing as you're new to the whole rebuilding thing I would suggest silica.
Make sure to use a multimeter or at the very least a mod that can read ohms and never fire something up without checking your coil for shorts.
