I'm a 30+ year analog smoker, for the most part Marlboro lights. Here's what totally soothes me in the e-cig arena right now. Really, really good!

The basic set-up:
Joye 510 e-cig (batt/atty)
Kent 18mg juice from Eastmall
Cartridges from wherever -- we throw out the guts, who cares?

Now here's the back story:
Before vaping I used to make my own analogs. tobacco, tubes/filters were all bought separately. I have hundreds of tubes left over, purchased at $1.80 per carton of 200. Do the math as we work through this.

Here's the step-by-step:
Separate the filter from the paper cigarette tube.
Cut the filter in half lengthwise with scissors
Peel the paper covering off with your fingers
You now have filler for two carts
Pull out and discard whatever filler is in your cart
Drip 10-15 drops of fluid into the empty cart
Insert one of the filler pieces you just made into the cart/mouthpiece
Add two drops more on top of the filler you just inserted
Add one drop to the atomizer
Insert cart onto atomizer
Vape away in luxury!
Entire process takes 15 seconds

This is by far the closest to an analog smoke I've run across. It's really good!

I've seen talk of this being tried in a different thread in one of the subforums.
They said it worked great for the first fill but no so much when refilling.

Huh. I was doing the same thing, and I gave away 4 cartons of tubes and a pound + of tobacco when I started vaping. I may have to get some of those tubes back.

Yeah, it's good!

When I refill with my method, the filters take 5-6 drops but they last a good long while. (The polyfill always holds more than it can use.) With the dirt-cheap price of of the manufactured tube filters, I don't mind re-building my carts once or twice a week. Plus, I know the polyfill is clean.

Update: The 11mg M'boro juice from Vapor4Life is even better. Man, it hits the spot! De-lish.

If you go to a store that sells stuff for RYO,s you also just buy the filters without ant paper. I'm not sure how much they are, but i think they are very cheap.
