Because a shiny raw stainless wick looks good in an AGA- especially if you have XS-18 or EkoWool sitting on top as an insulator and have no need for torching or oxidizing!

Anyone else notice that gennies seem to mute the flavor a bit compared to a good dripper setup? Also I tend to get less vapor on an A7 setup exactly like an IGO-S. These RBAs all have a sweet spot and it's fun to experiment lol.

Ahhh... got it!

I agree... nothing has been able to touch a 3.5 ohm 306 atty on top of my Darwin...

Got my first rope wick setup running... 3/32 7x7 from mcmaster-carr. 15 feet for about $13 bucks.

This stuff almost wicks TOO fast... I need a lower ohm coil to burn through it. Oxidation was really key for me... especially at the top where the coil is wrapped. Torch/quench x3, 3x juice burn... to really marry the rope and wick. Was getting awful hot-leg hotspot where the positive post connects to the top/end of the coil... this solved it!

Tried twisting coil wires, 30 and 32g, didn't go well. So I wrapped two 30 32g coils, came out to .9ohm. Works much better than the 1.3ohm coil. Produces vapor faster and the top of the AGA doesn't get quite as hot, still hotter than it does with a mesh wick though.

edit- Kanthal is 32g, not 30

Next to the screws and what looked like the cabinet doorhandles

Just ask for chains n theyll tell you the aisle

Be careful there is galvanized version of it too..

Make sure label only says stainless steel

Theyr all uncoated
But the others say galvanized in small white on the left

Also i asked him that why the galvanized ones looked shinnier and he said that the galvanizing makes them shiny

This one was shiny vut a little duller than the other ones.

It was the only one not galvanized..

They dont even have it in tge crownbolt website anymore

So idk if its discontinued or something

Where has this thread been? Just finished reading all 52 pages in one sitting. I've learned more about wrapping coils, resistance, wicking, getting other methods sorted, and just general genesis atties in this thread alone than my entire time on ECF.

Anyone see any reason NOT to order from Stainless Steel Wire Rope | Bosun Supplies. ?
