Hi all.
I have 32 gauge and 29 gauge kanthal available. I like building in the 1.2 to 1.5 ohm range and usually vape at 10-12w.
The other day I was playing with different coil builds (simple, parallel side-by-side, twisted, etc) and the coil that tasted the best to me and produced a nice thick vapor was the twisted 32 gauge.
Problem is that, with a 2mm id, I get 1.31 Ohms with only 5 wraps. I would like to have something with a slightly more surface area so I thought making a twisted 29 gauge. However, even without actually making one, I can forsee that it will have a bit too much mass so it probably will take a long time to heat up at 10-12w. Although I could go up to 30w, I would prefer staying in the original range to keep battery consumption in reasonable levels (I use 18350 during the day).
So now I had an idea of making a twisted wire using different wire resistances i. e. Twist a 29 gauge wire with a 32 gauge one.
I remember seeing some mixed builds like that (strait parallel) but I wonder if anybody has already done this and If there is any fundamental problem I should be aware of before doing this experience.
Thx
Regards
Tony
