Wire to Wick Ratio

I'm trying o figure out how many feet of wick and wire to buy so that I run out at about the same time. I'm been using 30 gauge Kanthal, sometimes 32 and 2mm hollow silica wick. Most builds come out to about 1.2 to 1.6 ohms, with very little wire waste, maybe 1/2", and zero wick wasted. I know I could just measure the next few times, but I was hoping to place an order this weekend as I'm running low on wick.


Any ideas? Is there a common ratio everyone goes with? These are going in an EhPro kayfun Lite. Thanks

For a KFL in the target resistance range you prefer, 28 or 30 is a better choice for Kanthal wire gauge. As to wick... considering you can re-wick a coil over and over, for sometimes months at a time... there is no ratio.
