I couldn't make it. I tried to get someone to car pool because of a medical problem that stops me from driving more than 1/2 hour at a time right now. I found only one NEWS report on yesterday's hearing, it's not much, same crud they put out. The Moscow West (Madison) crowd had their usual suspects, learned academics payed by BT and BP available from what I can get from the story.
I'll put a link on the NEWS thread.

"Wisconsin's children with their young brains so sensitive to nicotine may be put at risk."

I've noticed the young brains statement associated with nicotine a lot lately. Must be the latest attack bullet point.

And they should be getting it from burning vegetable matter like they presently do, and as we did in the past. Doesn't anyone have any respect for tradition .....:facepalm::facepalm:

(yup, it's a triple facepalm)

Yay! I finally finished the video link. Kept thinking I may not make it through, but kept finding each speaker (especially for our side) to be compelling.

I thought Kristin did a good job in laying out key issues of the political fight. Arguably the best speaker that is equipped with the facts and extent of what we (vapers) are up against, plus presenting that from consumer perspective. To you Kristin and your testimony, I give you a well deserved

:headbang:

My friend, that I mentioned on p.1 of this thread was a speaker, much to my surprise. All the vaping citizens that spoke did good in their own way and only helped with overall momentum.

I thought Vikki McKenna did very good job but as she makes a living out of speaking, that isn't a surprise. Just so glad she is on our side and shows we do have at least one voice in the media.

I thought for most of my viewing that the first doctor that spoke, Dr. Fiore, was possibly the most effective person as he was challenging the merit of the bill and SHV, while most speakers were prattling on about how eCigs will save smokers lives.

But glad I watched it to the end because last speaker Greg Conley was, IMO, the best speaker and spoke directly to the merits of this bill. That it changes nothing, and helps business/property owners gain clarification that vaping indoors in public is not, and cannot be, considered part of the previously passed smoking ban. He did this as legislature Risser (opposition) attempted to knock him off his game and win on certain, far fetched, technicalities. In my opinion, Conley beat him, like a drum. I also kept getting annoyed by Risser's incessant cough and finding much irony in that on this particular topic. As in, someone get that guy an eCig and ease his pain. But to Risser and all his (ahem) wonderful comments, I give you this:

:tumble:

Watching this does make me wish even more I would've gone, but is perhaps best I didn't. I would've wanted to vape in that room so bad just to demonstrate what is being discussed as if there is risk to others involved. Would've done it stealthily and then been one of the last speakers and asked the likes of Risser if he'd even know it if he was in the same room? But alas, it was probably best for vapers that a vape everywhere advocate like Jman didn't go. Instead, I got to see it on video, while vaping indoors. And was very nice to see a good long piece on vaping rights and politics of indoor use from a perspective that was weighted for the pro vaper.

So glad this bill has bipartisan support, and a little more glad (at least right now) that Pubs in Wisconsin rule the roost.

I have to agree with everything Jman said ^^^^^^^^. Would add that I learned something from Sen Risser. I had no idea that my emails had toxic chemicals in them. :( I've seen Sen Fred in action before, nothing much changes with him, once he's made up his mind and his pockets are filled, he's on a mission, he might not know which mission, but in his mind it's a mission.

Thanks. Once Senator Risser said e-cigarettes were being marketed to children I knew I couldn't just go up there and read my speech.
