Dry sockets occur when you lose the blood clot over the extraction site, leaves you with exposed bone, Owey! May have happened even if you didn't vape. Off to the DDS to get the sites packed and some pain pills.
I agree with you sidetrack because everytime I vaped I covered up both of the wounds/sockets with wet clean gauze so I don't think it was the vaping. Idk but either way it hurts like heck and the DDS won't see me until tomo. Fortunately for me the internet exists and many ppl have home remedies that work to ease some of the pain!
Thanks all for your kind words and support through my wisdom teeth woes!
Just as a side note....
1. never have major dental surg on a friday just in case you have problems.
2. if a DDS won't offer some kind of help with a dry socket ie come in to the office on his off days, pain pills, or referral to emergency care I would find another dentist!
3. no blood thinners(examples...coumadin and asprin) unless prescribed by your MD or DDS prior to extractions.
Not sure if this would benefit your condition, but I know first hand that "clove" essential oil is Excellent at reducing pain from a tooth. I applied some to a gauze, and placed it beside the tooth and cheek. Tastes quite strong, so be careful, but it sure as heck killed my pain.
Good luck to ya.
