I attempted to post a much more detailed introduction here but a login timeout ate it. 8-( It's been so long since I've actively participated in forums that I neglected to use the "Type it in a word processor, and then post it" trick. Old dog sometimes forgets Old Tricks.

Tomorrow is the day that I quit. I had a POS model of what appears to be a Joye 302 knockoff that I had purchased more than a year ago that I just picked up again after what is referred to as "The Chantrix Fiasco" around my house. I did quite well with it till the atomizer burnt out on Wednesday...

Tomorrow a nice Joye 510t setup and 90mL of assorted flavors should arrive and I will put the analogs down forever. I thought that kit would suffice for a month or two with a followup order of cartomizers, but then I discovered the VVVT deal posted on the Lavatube forum. My plan was to get the 510T as a stealth vape/starter kit, and then move up to a Provari or Darwin (Sold Out.) Lao Tzu is correct, no plan ever survives first contact. It looks like I will be dipping my feet in the VV waters much more quickly than expected thanks to Totally Wicked, and really I will probably want a VV backup when I do decide to spend the big bucks on the other mods.

I'm off to do more research on cartomizer/tank mods that work well with the LT setup so if anyone has any advice that they would like to share about that, or the transition from analog to vapor it will be much appreciated!
Thank you to all the people who have already given me so much great info here.

In my opinion and what I experienced...it is best to start off the day vaping - not following a cigarette. One seems to cancel out the other. So, the vape really works better if it is the first things in your lungs after a good nights sleep. That doesn't mean you can't smoke that day, rather that you'll have less desire to.

GOOD LUCK!

+1 on the Chantix :) I figured that I'm already on my way to looney tunesville and didn't need any extra doses with the drug. What worked for me (and I'm assuming some others) is to just cut down analogs to a designated number. Think I started with 3 or 5 per day. It helped me to address the "panic" of I'll never smoke again while getting used to vaping. Within a few days the analogs tasted like a funky garbage can and, voila, I'm a non smoker.

Just my advice - am sure that others will chime in there. Welcome to the ECF and Congrats on finding the most fun way to quit smoking. You're gonna love it.

I used the gas station disposables for a bit to see if I could get use to the urge to cough alot when inhaling, made the choice to go e-cig, ordered a neo classic & got lucky to get some good fluid on first purchase. I still carried my smokes with for a week or so.... just in case :p

After about 15 days started to have issues with the neo classic and started to panic, I didn't want to go to the icky disposables while returning the neo classic but ended up with a Janty jets and at present happy with it. GL and hope all goes well for your transition

Chantix actually worked pretty well for my nicotine cravings. My head stayed on straight, but it really tore the crap out of my stomach when I would take it. I have no doubt if I had continued to take it I would have gotten an ulcer. PV's seem to do much better for me. 2 days clean so far. Time will tell!

Chantix made me throw up - a lot.

I figure that if I succeeded after 40+ years of smoking, and was up to 2+ packs a day at the end, you can too! I did love my ciggies.

Just a word about VV - I bought a cheap ego 3 stage VV (about $20) to get my feet wet. I do love the higher voltage, but it does me cough. Sigh.

Good luck, my dear.

Glad your back at vaping... Ive been doing it now for 2+ years....and its fantastic...
I see you got a 510 setup coming...Now the 510 atomizer is my favorite, hands down.. But to really know what vaping is all about you will need to get yourself a Mod with a big battery... If you run at 3.7 volts use Joye LR 510s and you will see twice as much vapor thats warmer(Your pen style setup can not power a LR 510 atty)
But if you are going to buy a Mod at somepoint might as well get a VV/ Get the PROVARI..... They are better then the Darwin(people have had lots of problems with them)
The beauty of a VV Mod such as a Provari is that not only can you set your own "sweetspot" but as the battery discharges it will keep the voltage the same, so you hits will be consistance... And huge.... Dont want you sneaking back to those analogs!

And if the flavors dont work for you as an all day vape..........
Try some of what Ive been using for 1 3/4 years:
Innovapor.com Ultrapure 100% VG unflavored 36mg nicotine... It taste super clean and the 36mg really satisfys the nic fix.... And no matter what others will tell you 36mg is not to much nicotine... Alot of people love it.... because it works! If you try some use the code... ECF20 for the discount........ Good luck and keep on vaping....

PVs do work for geting you off the analogs...Asd long as you have a deceint Mod setup... I started with a 510 kit like most of us did, and still wanted to sneak an analog..... Until I got my first Mod a Provape1... and then when I discoverd the 510 LR attys for it I was really satisfied... Plus the 36mg nicotine...lol That was a long time ago 2+ years and Im still vaping and loving every minuite of it....

Really happy that this worked for you! Also need to point out that many of us quit with a humble mini-cig or ego.

Whatever works for you is just wonderful.

Get a MOD/ you are wasting money with that crap you are buying... And if you use 100%VG e-liquid you wont have the coughing problem... PG is much harsher!!

I didnt say I wanted to quite, love my nicotine.. I just wanted a healthier option for geting my fix... Plus I can vape inside the house now(never smoked inside)... Your right the pen styles do work for some,,,,but not for all....they cant satisfy a real smokers craving like a Mod does!
