Hello All

i have made the conversion over to the ecigs
experiencing some twinges every now and then
when i breath in , just a quick sharp twinge ; also
sometimes strange sensations in the chest and back
not really twinges but sort of flashes of sensation..... 2 days ago
had one analogue ; before that none for 5 days . Could these
simply be symptoms/readjustments from analogue withdrawal
or do you think they are early warning signs that vapping is not for me
.... i have read quite a few concerning threads about people suffering
some alarming symptoms after vaping

Thanks Glycerol

have a docs apointment booked in for tomorrow
how is it going for you otherwise ?

It's good you've got an appointment. You could be having a reaction. Or it could just be the nasty stuff in your body breaking loose after stopping the smokes. Even cold turkey quitters can have those kind of issues. Hopefully everything is ok, and goes well at the doc.

My teeth were in pain and I was spitting blood since my gums started filling up with oxigen (a very common reaction when you quit the stinkies), some blood pressure problems when I was chain-vaping for more than an hour and so on, but that was only the first 2 to 3 weeks and because I vaped 6-7ml of very heavy 36mg 100% VG juice. Later I switched to 100% PG and lowered the nic to 24mg. Felt better. Then I dilluted to 20mg and I feel great now.

36mg 6-7 ml a day glycerol....you must have been vaping in the shower?!
glad to hear you're feeling better now. I was a light smoker - 5 to 6 roll ups a day-
I started on 12mg and got through i think about 1ml a day i think ; that still suits me fine.
Another thing i have noticed now is a little pain when swallowing ; as though i were developing
a cold ; feel a bit run down in general , but i'm pretty sure this has to do with smoking cessation

An update to anyone who may be interested.... went to the docs today
described some symptoms which are apparently quite common upon stopping
smoking. His words were something along the lines that e-cigs look as thought they are safe
and certainly provide a means to stopping smoking ; something like that. Had a bit of a rough day
today actually really felt like a zombie kept forgetting why i'd walked up the stairs or why
i'd come into a room; pretty moody to -very moody actually. All tell tell signs of withdrawal

Those really so sound like symptoms of oxygen delivery! In other words our brains just don't know what to do with the oxygen they are getting...they just aren't used to it. Best of luck with this. I really understand the temptation to over monitor our bodies when we start vaping. There just isn't any research on the long term effects yet, so it is natural to wonder if this new pastime will end up being deadly. Here's where I stand on this issue: I will relax and enjoy my vapes. I KNOW smoking analogs was killing me slowly and not so slowly. If I learn that vaping is dangerous in the long term, I will deal with that when the time comes. I am an informed vaper and I have given myself informed consent to vape.

Hope you feel better very soon. I want everyone to have a positive experience with vaping because I think it is the best thing I have found since I started smoking at the age of 12. Thank God I had a friend that switched to vaping and turned me on to the new technologies. I hated those "cigalikes" sold in truck stops and convenience stores!

It's hard to say. Cigarettes have so much in them, nicotine only being one ingredient among 4,000 (!), there's going to be a period of adjustment. And smoking causes so much damage in so many areas, it's hard to say what all your body does when the smoke and chemicals are taken away. Could be your lungs are "waking up" and starting to try to repair the damage.

Smoking seems to "suppress" symptoms of various problems. The weirdest (to me) are dental issues. Apparently--and a lot of folks here have been through this one--the chemicals in cigarette smoke kill off bacteria to some degree. A developing tooth problem can keep getting "knocked down" but it's not being fixed. Just repressed and slowed. So some vapers have toothaches show up. It's not that vaping caused them, it's that smoking was masking them. I have an old root canal start acting up a few weeks in to vaping. That was fun.

By the way, twinges can also be muscle spasms that could be completely unrelated to smoking or vaping. I live with that lunacy. My family has the worst backs. :)

Of course, seeing a doctor is the best thing to do. But you're just barely getting started. There are likely to be all kinds of weird things happen at first as your body adjusts. Heh, I got kind of giddy and light headed the first week. I suspect it was that "oxygen" thing people talk so much about. :)

I think a lot of it may actually be looking to closely as you say
glowplug. I am pretty sure now that a lot of these 'symptoms' are just my
body knitting itself back together again. I was happy with what the doctor said
I actually saw anther doc a few weeks ago on an unrelated matter and mentioned
i was thinking of tying the ecig and they were very enthusiastic.... which suprised me.

The human body has a profound shock when smoking analogs has stopped. The chemicals big tobacco adds to analogs is extensive. When stopping ALL of the extensive addictive chemicals the body goes through SHOCK. The symptoms are varied and unpleasant. Once one makes it through this withdrawl stage things level out and nicotine is enough of a replacement. So much so that many people elect to continue nicotine intake indefinitely WITHOUT the 3000+ other chemicals.

I had kind of a wild ride myself at the beginning. I suspect most do. It's a big change. A good change but a big one.

Hang in there. The positives will outweigh the negatives in time. Like sleep? I sleep so good these days. Better than in years and years. I think that alone is just about worth the price of admission. :)

I think the sudden tooth issue that some of us got after switching to vaping after smoking is the result of better blood flow to the gums when the cigs are stopped. The gums are starting to actually heal. I went from red swollen gums to nice tight pink ones in a few months.

To the Orig poster, I also had various pings and pains in strange places when I started vaping. I think one of the things was my body adjusting to withdrawal of carbon monoxide. It's a nasty poison and I had it in my blood for many years. Glad to be away from it.

Wow. I'm sorry to hear of the problems some of you have had, but happy you are on a road to what is hopefully better health. I feel pretty fortunate that I didn't face the same issues.

I was a smoker of 25 years, 2 packs for the last 5 years, and switched over to an e-cig without and issues. As soon as the order arrived with my batteries and clearomizers I didn't look back. It's been over 5 months now and I enjoy vaping with all the variety of flavors available. I started with 12mg e-liquid and now I'm using 3mg. I can't say I have a plan to stop vaping. I really do enjoy it.

I hope that you all get through your possible chemical withdrawl issues. It sucks, but I think it's worth it.

Im glad your feeling better. My first few weeks were very hard. I just felt crummy all around. I had bad headaches but now I'm feeling great and so glad I can breathe again. I did laugh today...... I was getting ready to take my son to dentist and was putting on some perfume and almost choked myself. Before I never felt it was that strong. LOL. Its amazing how smells and taste come back huh.
