All Hi-drain / Hi-discharge batteries are good with the WAE-II. Thus, those AW-IMRs are just fine as also the Hybrid batteries.

However, the longevity of the WAE-II will depend on the mAh of the battery inside. Higher the mAh = longer battery life. The Sony VTC series (hybrids) are superb for the DNA30D ~ but their low mAh dictate a faster change-over time between batteries. Their VTC5, at 2600mAh & 30A discharge is one of the best and recommended for the WAE-II.

But I am also using the Panasonic NCR18650PD (2900mAh, 10A discharge, Hybrid) - and this is as good as it gets in terms of high mAh, thus longer life, for our WAE-II. This is highly recommended!

I also have a higher mAh Panasonic, which works bloody well in my mechs ~ but not so in my WAE-II. The Panasonic NCR18650A (3100mAh). It works ~ but gives intermittent "poor battery" msg, which is a pita and thus not recommended. Note: The battery is good, but that 'poor battery' message is due to it not being a "high discharge" battery.

Yes, the Pila is a damn good charger. But so is our Nitecore Intelichargers - at rock bottom prices ;)

It is neither an IMR nor a hybrid. Besides it also has poor discharge rates. Thus, this is not a good battery for our DNA30 mods.

Of course. Same dna 30 board. I buy from rtd because of the overwhelming confidence in the authenticity of the product.

Oh yes, rtd vapor good source for legit AW batterys; i was asking because saw a video review of pbusardo and the VTC did work with the WAE2 he have but in other videos they seem to work just fine.

I have the Sony VTC3, it fits and works perfectly in my WAE-II. The VTC5 is similar in chemistry and form/dimensions to the VTC3 ~ so it will also work fine on WAE-II. In fact it will last longer since it's of higher mAh.

I guess the DNA chip went funky?

Not 100% sure. Told Mark what it was doing, and he said "send it back" ..... so I did.
Now I guess it's fixed and already heading back.
I was afraid for a minute it was lost in the mail, but then it showed. :toast:

*edit - it wouldn't adjust the wattage, just sat at the lowest 6 watts. (7 watts? whatever the lowest is)

Simply put ~ from my experience/s ~ UPS suck bad :( I always had headaches with them. Extra paperwork, delays and that additional cost.

Yeah i remember when Mark sent my TI Wizard it was using the regular post and it was very fast without any custom bs.

I might drop another call and see if i can go directly to the warehouse and speed things.
