I took one of my we2's apart and tried to put a dna40 in it. the dna40 into a wizard is going to be very tricky. there is an extra component that protrudes from the chip that wasn't on the previous ones so the chip can no longer slide into the carrier as it was designed for 20's and 30's. then the second problem is the mosfet/power chip is much larger on the 40's so the wiring no longer fits laid on either side of it, the wires no longer fit to begin with and on top of that the 40 requires thicker wire too, so it's def a challenge to get it in there

I modded the chip holders and made a way to get the chip to slide in and engage the buttons even with this new component protrusion from the chip but the wiring is a real problem. I tried to do it with 20 ga and run them on the opposite side of the chip but it's very tight, I actually had it in and working but then when I final tightened the caps I broke the display cable because the wires are just too fat, I then tried again and again I broke a second dna40 so yeah, def a challenge. I'm out of chips so I ordered another one, hope to get another shot at it by the weekend....

I'm using the wand and I can't wait to try a genny with Ni200 wire, I'm thinking because the wires resistance is so low to begin with that shorts should be way way less of an issue with Ni wire...

I'm running the wand with SS cable and I have my second wand ready to go whenever I can get the other wizard working with the dna40 :)

Ps.: This is also the reason why I am so eagerly waiting for MB to do their trick, Metal Magicians they are aren't they! And I'm sanguine they are working on it ~ a Wizard40 is not long!

ahh, I really thought I'd be vaping on my dna40 wizard for christmas, I got another new chip a few days ago and been testing it and it's been working fine, I made a new channel in the inner sled for the wires and thought I had it so I tried installing it again today and proceeded to very carefully break the third one too :)

I know what I did wrong, I was stubborn in trying to still use very heavy wire, if I used something like a 20 gauge it would have worked fine and not been so bad, considering how short the wires are in this thing too but I overdid it a bit, thought third time would be it but now I'll def get it on the forth and final one, I hope . gotta order another chip :(
