Wizard Labs nicotine freezing?

Hey folks,

I get my nicotine from Wizard Labs in 500ml sizes.
100mg in PG. It comes in a bottle in a sealed plastic bag.
My bar fridge has become full.

Can I put that in my freezer?

I wonder if it will burst.

With the news going around about so many extreme regulations, I get worried about supply drying up.

So I have become a hoarder of all things vape. I've been regularly ordering DIY supplies and mods and my inventory is getting a little out of hand. I'm looking for long term storage solutions. I also am beginning to think I should stockpile PG and VG as well. My goal is 5 years worth.. for now.

I was a heavy smoker.. I intend to never go back so I will do what it takes. If the laws ever settle down to something reasonable.. I can always open a store

Freezing ANYTHING in glass is NOT a good idea, IMO...ANY expansion can cause breakage/leakage....
If you've got 500ml....I'd take 100ml and put it in an AIRTIGHT FOOD-GRADE PLASTIC container with a screw-on lid..FILL IT FULL - NO AIR AT THE TOP!! Freeze THIS CONTAINER, checking it every couple of days....IF it's not bulging/leaking after a week or so, I'd re-package the remaining 400ml the SAME WAY....BE SURE TO MARK THE FREEZE DATE ON THE LABEL WITH WATERPROOF INK!
According to Wizard Labs, nic liquid can be stored UP TO 12 months @ 34-41 degrees F. -- it's what I do...I have NEVER frozen mine...
BTW....I use WL 100mg/ml, also....but 100% VG base, NOT PG....
Others who've posted on the Forum have had success with freezing, so you SHOULD be OK....but to be SAFE, I'd do a small batch FIRST to test it out...you sure don't want to lose an entire 1/2 liter!!8-o

PG will not freeze in homeowner type freezers. Most people that store nic for DIY pour it into 120ml amber glass bottles sealed tightly with polycone caps. Plastic bottles can allow oxygen to leach into the nic which will degrade the nic. I have several hundred ml stored that way right now.

Freezing ANYTHING in glass is NOT a good idea, IMO...ANY expansion can cause breakage/leakage....

Unlike water, PG and VG do not expand when frozen, so expansion is not a concern. Leaving a tiny bit of room in the top of the bottles you freeze is a good idea as these liquids will expand somewhat when brought up to room temperature. If you plan on storing high concentration (60-100mg) liquid longer than one year, very cold storage in glass will preserve it best.

Because pg and vg does not expand like water does, I use glass bottles. There are several good threads on ecf regarding what different people do and why. Just google it and a bunch of threads will come up. Look forward to reading the replies to your questions so I can learn something too. Good luck. I agree with 440BB, mine is in the freezer, in glass. The plastic bottles will leach out stuff which will affect the taste and possibly the health of your liquids.

I would add one caveat:

I seal my bottles in plastic zip-lock bags and keep them on the bottom shelf of the freezer, separated from any food items. If one does happen to break, there is virtually no chance of contaminating any food items.
