Yeah I've been rebuilding my atties since day one. It does take a little practice figuring everything out, but after I did the flavor is ten times better than before and it cost about 2 cents to recoil/rewick. You don't need anything fancy to check coils, I have a cheap multimeter and my battery-less ego passthrough has great short circuit protection. If somehow I don't catch a short on my multimeter, my passthrough will pick it up, it's also my backup while my battery is charging.

It's actually not a passthrough since there is no battery involved and it's vv, just screw tank on and vape. One of the best things I bought, if anyone wants to check it out. Variable voltage 510/eGo USB passthrough

I am a nova and mini nova person too. It is just too easy to replace the heads but I am getting tired of having to order the replacement heads. I did order 2 novas on Friday during the sales. I was able to get 2 novas, 2 extra colored tank covers and 10 heads for $35. (shipping was even free) I was thrilled with that deal!! I HAVE to get some dripping attys though so I can test out flavors I am making. I keep seeing so many that I am clueless on what to get.

Mack - thanks for that info. I am going to check it out!

Since I got all my flavors yesterday, I made up some juices last night. I got brave and worked with a few flavors per mix. I had only used more than 2 flavors on one of my juices and that was a "fruit smoothie" I made. I went through that whole bottle it was so good lol

I made Str8vaping's Raspberry Cream Cheese Danish recipe BUT I didn't have raspberry so I used strawberry instead. I also am working on a peach cobbler recipe. This is the 3rd time I have tweaked it. Hopefully, it works! I also made one using dragon fruit, strawberry and vanilla swirl. I wanted to use bavarian cream instead of vanilla swirl but running low on b.c. It seems I use that in just about every recipe I have made lol A big bottle of bavarian cream is a must.

Hey Mack - I just noticed your banner on your sig. I can't get mine to work BUT I think we quit smoking the same day! I had my last analog on Halloween so I am smoke free going on 25 days. I am always amazed at how well vaping has helped me give up a 25 year habit. You seem to have made a lot more progress than I have learning all of this though :( I guess I need to stalk you to learn quicker lmao j/k Congrats to you!

Thanks mimi, it worked great to help me quit. Don't feel bad, I'm just a big DIYer and it's easier to learn when the incentive is saving 95% $ by mixing juices and rebuilding atty's. It took me probably a dozen coils I wrapped to figure out how cotton vapes best, but now I have a fool proof method that never fails me. Congrats to you too on quitting! What kind of setup are you vaping with?

I am still using the ego twist starter kit I bought. I hate it lol I have to charge the batteries way too much - they are 650's. I wish I had done more research and bought a different set up from the start. I use the mini nova tanks on them. I tried carts and wasn't real thrilled with them. I may try it again though. I have ordered 2 novas for bigger tanks. I also ordered the kanger t3, split fire, A5 replaceable atty and a DS3 versi tank system to try. Some of these sales were hard to pass up on things I wanted to try lol.

I did get in on a couple co-ops and going to try the L-Rider Robust and Itaste MVP since the cost was right. By the time I am done, I could have had a provari lol I just don't know if I would like how bulky that is. I am going to either have some combination that I really like or a nice collection for dust lol

For me, mixing my own juices was a no brainer. I have been making candles and bath/body stuff for years. I have a lot of mixing equipment and familiar with formulas and such. I know making my own juices will allow me to tweak flavors to suit MY taste buds. I also really enjoy it :) I know I will save quite a bit of money in the long run but I have gotten carried away with the up front costs.

How about you? What have you tried and what are you using?

I'm using an ego twist 1000mah myself and my vv ego battery-less passthrough, I'm pretty happy with both of them. I'm running a couple vivi mini nova 2.5's which I rebuild with cotton/kanthal, and a did clone (genesis style) I converted to cotton.

It's a direct plug in usb (plugs into your house hold electricity)... I put up a link to it top of this page.

I have a similar one I got from DV - no need for batts at work - plug is USB - long drive - NP - plug is cig adapter. I think I need to get a electric plug usb - vape is not warm enough from laptop. Supposed to be VV - upto 4.7Vs....dont think it does.....

Yeah if you don't have a 2amp usb/wall adapter it wont get enough power. If its the same one I have, it's basically a permanent ego twist. It can be set to 3.0- 3.6-4.2-4.8 volts. But yeah the performance is based on the power supply it's plugged into. Like I have one usb adapter that is supposed to adjust its power supply to whatever device is plugged into it, and it lacks in power because of it but my other one that is 2 amps vapes like a steam engine.

i have an ego 1100, 900, and 650 mah ... the 1100 is a twist.. i love that thing... when im not in the mood for my mini lava tube.. i grab my ego twist.. i love it..

i never use the 650mah though. It only gets used when i have visitors at my house and they wanna vape .. its perfect for that.. or if your on the go and you gotta go to walmart to pick up vg really quick and theres a tank on it with some type of juice you dont remember you made... its the first thing you see on the counter close to your front door after realizing you dont have the mini lavatube in your pocket.. THEN.. ill grab the 650.

it was my first vaping device ever.. and i used to love it.. but your right.. i had to always keep charging it and charging it. it didnt last me not even half a day.

oh sheesh mack, I had a major brain fart. I still have that link open where you posted it earlier, just hadn't had a chance to look at it and see what it was lol

I have been playing the mad scientist role tonight. I mixed up buttery nipple, peanut butter cup, bavarian cream donuts (using belgian waffle, bavarian cream and double chocolate), started working on pineapple upside down cake (this one will take alot of tweaks), and a recipe on here for mock gorilla juice (want to see what all the hype is over this stuff). I am going out of town and wanted to try a few while I was on the road. Probably a huge mistake but time will tell lol

Just bought my second batch of flavors from WL ...

Cantaloupe TFA Flavor
Cinnamon Danish Flavor
Cotton Candy Flavor (TFA)
Hawaiian Tropical Punch Flavor (TFA)
Honey Dew Flavor (TFA)
Juicy Peach Flavor (TFA)
Lemon Lime Flavor (TFA)
Sweet Cream Flavor (TFA)
Tutti-Frutti Flavor Concentrate (TFA)

Bought some 12ml nicotine as well as I tend to vape a flavor I'm working on a lot and 18mg starts giving me the nic-overload headache. (not good)

I did some tobacco extractions last night and today. I am trying to avoid tobacco extracts, but I figured I'd use it as a treat once in a great while. One was a favorite cigar, the other was a favorite pipe tobacco.

Just took apart, cleaned, and recoil/rewicked one of my mini nova tanks. Am letting the cotton soak up the pipe tobacco recipe for at least an hour ( a must ). Will come back after taste testing, and with the recipes I used.
