My wait was epic -- it shipped on the first, it arrived on the eighth. ><; Priority mail, even.

I was doing the postman stalk, reliving my old ebay days. I had finally given up and put my things on to go run errands, and he arrived! A ratty looking tyvek bag was shoved into my post office box, full of shiny new things.

I bought two Vapor King kits, and a nice selection of cartomizers so we could get a nice swatch of what was available -- a few menthols, a few desserts, etc. My nicotine dosages ranged from 8 to 18 mg. Vapor4life threw in a few freebies, as well, giving us an even broader selection.

It was to be my birthday gift to my brother (and myself). He'd been smoking since he was in the service, not 'heavily' but definitely consistently.

I couldn't wait for him to come home from work, so I opened the few that I had bought specifically for myself. I plugged in the batts to charge, whipped out the pt I bought, and balked slightly. You watch the youtube videos over and over again, but when you finally have it in hand it's a bit of a pause. I didn't want to break it, and I wanted to make sure it was a good experience so I could brief my brother when he returned. Also! I wanted to be sure it was worth the investment.

I gently twisted it on, and gave it a delicate suck... and another, and another, priming it. Then I took the long, slow draw I'd seen over and over again on youtube, my mouth filled with the flavor of lemon cookie icecream, I finally got to feel th for the first time, and I let out an exhale like a sigh after a good meal.

:D I said to my brother, "Oh, we in trouble now." When he came home.

He had been open to the idea, I didn't surprise him with this gift. So when he sat I gave him a brief rundown on how to vape, and handed it over. He looked pleasantly surprised, and seemed totally converted.

We're already talking about getting a lower ml of nicotine in our next order -- with his traditional smoke being lights, he says he feels the nicotine right away. So, fewer 18mls and more 8s, and he even said he was interested in the 0ml because he just enjoyed doing it!

A total smashing success. His day one without analogs.

Me: Question. Do you think you can give up (analogs) for these?
He: .... yes. Actually. I do. ....:| I've actually been thinking about taking up crystal .....
Me: Well. I can't get you an electric one of those.
He: Awwww...

I'm already quietly plotting to snare our gaming buddy into vaping. He smokes at least a pack a day, and has for years. He is not beyond my manipulation.

:2cool:

I'm completely impressed by the whole thing, so far. Of course, it *is* day one. But I'm pleased to hear my brother say he won't miss analogs. I'm pleased I won't be sent to the grocery store once he's had one too many because he wants a pack. I'm enjoying the whole thing, overall.

Motorpsychle: Thank you. :) I'm kind of relieved. He can be such a stick in the mud. As a kid sister, I find I often have to bash him on the head and drag him along my wild ideas. I introduced him to it in an email, with tons of links to articles, stores (mostly juice stores) and youtube links. The title of the email? "I want these! So, I know you want them, too." And he was an easy sell for at least a kit. It was taking his smokes and marrying them to a geek toy.

letsrock0303: It is! o_O I'm pretty sure I'm going to accidentally take in more nicotine than I normally do, simply because I'm just enjoying the *act* of vaping. I think the kr808d-1s are perfect for my brother, but I'm already thinking of trying out a different style. Dripping seems pretty appealing to me, it'd just be too fiddly for my bro.

samsmom: oops, you posted and I didn't see. I'd done as much research as my impatient mind could tolerate before I settled on vapor4life, and so far I have no complaints. I also got in on the Halloween sale. :D A nice discount, that's for sure. I'd gotten myself all worked up over their cartomizers, reading youtube comments. I should have known better -- youtube comments. -_- Oy.

letsrock0303: enabler! :p  I can't financially handle another kit so soon, but I'm already waffling between the eGo style and the .... 510 style? I think it's called? I'm not as concerned about battery life, but I have to admit the eGo's style appeals to me aesthetically, the eGo and the Boge Leo. The Leo's been called 'old fashioned', but it still appeals to me. I'm told that I have a weakness for steam punk, and it does strike that cord for me.

Allow me to enable you. ;)

If you want to try dripping, but can't afford another full kit right now, buy a 901 atomizer. They will screw right on to your Kr808 batteries, no need for an adapter.

Get a 510/901 drip tip (they're the same size), and vape away.

You can get a 901 atty for 7 or 8 bucks, and drip tip for 3 or 4.

Go on. You know you want to.

I am a newb to ECF as well as vaping. A friend of mine introduced me to what I thought was a joke as an analog regular. I had seen little kits in gas stations and tried a puff of what tasted like cheap tooth paste. I am a Camel full-flavor guy myself. So, my friend came over with a box full of quality looking e-cig stuff he got from V4L. After about five minutes of the introduction the vape party started. In a matter of minutes I became a V4L customer. That was a month ago and I love to love it. Although, I still smoke analogs, I went from a pack and 1/2 a day to a pack every 2-3 days. I am slowly but surely going completely digital and analogs will be a past habit. I am spending the same amount of money on components, juices, and types but it wont be long until I find the perfect setup. As of now, my favorite juice is WOW 555 from V4L. My daily setup is a kr808 batt, a 901 atomizer, and a drip tip. I have ten batteries... lol 3 XL, and 7 shorties all with different LED colors. I have 13 bottles of different flavors and dozens of flavored cartomizers. I am still seeking that perfect juice.. If I could get the WOW 555 as a concentrated flavor to add to my existing 555 I would be set! I dont really like the sweet stuff or the fake tobacco flavors. I have tried different manufactures versions of it but the WOW version is by far the one for me. However, there are more than enough flavors to try. It would be nice if there could be a huge e-cig convention and have some sort of a juice tasting!

Red Charley - We do have conventions. :)

There's a "Vapefest" every year, and lots of smaller meets for local vapers on a fairly regular basis. I've been to a couple.

Go here, and look for a subforum that's dedicated to vapers in your area. It will have information about local meets. If there isn't one, start one!

Thanks MistressNomad! I always wondered what atty would fit on my KR808D-1. I just ordered a 901 atty and drip tips from Good Prophets. I have dripped with my 510 but want to see if there is a difference with the 808! I love reading your posts!
