There sure has been a lot of pleasant day dreams lately of a couple of flat top mech Woodvil's around here made from some of my exhibition woods left over from the WC2K days. It won't happen, most day dreams don't, but the thought of Rob's killer Woodies made from some of these woods does have strong WOW appeal to me.

The pictures of the CaptSteve's beautiful homemade Wood mod in another Woodvil thread here sparks the interest to do the same. Had it been a few years ago before the health went south and I had to put my WC2K wood shop in storage I'd already be making dust.

Can share some WC2K wood porn though. I don't still have all of these woods, but do have some of these pieces pictured... and many others.

Alaskan Marbled Birch, Curly California Olive, Red Lace Maple Burl, Coco Quilted Maple, Flame Maple Burl, Bengal Tiger Maple, Old World Olive, Amboyna Burl, Thuya Burl, Curly Tasmanian Eucalyptus, Tasmanian Red Cheetah, Tasmanian Blackwood, Tasmanian Pinkwood Burl.

wc2k??????

I grew up on a high mountain ranch in the Rockies, with one of my early chores being eliminating the ranch properties of vermin. And I continued to do ADC (animal damage control) for ranch/farm owners and municipalities in several states for over 50 years free of charge so they wouldn't use poisons that killed non invasive species. I made my own custom animal wild calls all those years, and for a few of my friends. About the last half of those years they were numbered and signed, and starting with the new millennium they were also inscribed WC2K. I stopped doing ADC in 2005, made the last two calls for friends in 2008. My son has one of the first I ever made in the mid 50's (a simple deer sinew bite call) and a scrimshawed antler howler from a big mid 60's Mulie buck I shot and the jack knife I made it with sitting around the campfire on that week plus hunt. I have a couple from later mid years and some of the last I made.

What a great bit of history there Spydro! Where was the high mountain ranch? My family owned a ranch on the CO/WY border for about 20 years up at 8,500 feet.

Great wood pics, thanks for sharing.

Nice collection of exotic woods, spydro. Shame that you've had to put the wood shop away - I would have loved to see these show up as custom one-off mods. Maybe there's a modder out there (pdib? I know he's very busy, tho) who could do one up for you. Not the same as building one with your own hands, of course, but would still be very cool.
