hey shinypaladin,
just wondering if you had any updates on the QC problem with the dripping atties? i ended up giving away all my atties to friends that tried mine. they loved em! not im without :( Hope its fixed soon. I totally forgot to keep one for myself and i really wanted to demo the 1.8LR at Vapefest LV this coming weekend.
How are the SmartVape LR 1.5ohm bauways? i hated bauway for the longest time. i still have somewhat of a grudge against their atties. im hesitant to try them but i think you kno how i like my vapes by my reviews.
They had a QC problem and instead of shipping inferior ones we held back the shipment until it was corrected. I am now looking at next week before they come in. In the mean time you guys might like to try my 1.5ohms regular LR atomizers they are pretty kick ....

A couple final comments [from me anyway] on these dripping atties:
- I've since "upgraded" my current PV's internals with VV (whee!). I now use these at 3.4v and it's just right for me. (The one I've been using so far is 1.7ohm).
- I've also circumvented any leaks (since I still have mostly PG juices) with an o-ring. The 510 is now on an adapter (901-to-510 in my case), and right at the edge of the connection to the attie I have placed a Danco #6 o-ring with great results. Any juice that does seep through sits on the o-ring waiting for the next hit to pull it back in. Perhaps not as cool looking, nor quite as functional as a $13 drip shield, but if you're cheap like me: it's still ~$9 cheaper ($12.78 cheaper if you don't count the 9 spares I got in the box, nor the adapter which I already had:p).

Goooood stuff! :D

FWIW, Empire now has a $7 drip shield made with delrin. Of course, I notice this after having picked up the o-rings.

Many great inventions are born through thinking like this. Kudos indeed :)

a sneak peak of the new SmartBox mod, it will allow you to bottom feed into a SmartVapes Dripping Atomizer™ :) it will be available tomorrow for about $28, you will need a 14500 and a drip shield to make it work.

Thank you, but I can't claim this as my idea - I had seen someone's tutorial using this trick for a 901 (on some higher-end bottom feeder). I happened to be in the Home Depot with my PV and remembered it and eyeballed the size :)

wow is all i got to say about all Dripping Atomizers so far; including the 901 LR !
I didn't meter it, but man it kicks azz at my lowest setting; 3.4v unloaded... on my SgtII bottom feeder. Because it has a hole, it takes to BF'ing.
There are some new attys out now, hybrids, bf attys, i06 too... all good, but the Dripping' A's are up there if not on top of all that... for the price, the convenience and all that good stuff Smartvapes should be cranking out.

Allan, you posted that these work on your bottom feeder box... even with the closed bottom?
There's a top feeder model coming out in VV from another vendor and i imagine your attys will be killer with that.

I am ready for more ranges of 901's (SR) ?... imo the draw on the LR's is fine since there is so much vapor pumping out, but the draw on the 3.0 510 is a little too airy for me... those that like 801 will love it though :)
I have to find a way to control the air flow on those.

imo this is the best deal on attys around.

hmm i just noticed this using the dripping atomizer (probably could happen with any atty), but i wanna hear on peoples thoughts on this.
im using 100% vg liquid, the dripping atty, and a drip shield. so with the drip shield, i like to over drip. but lots of times, if its flooded and i take a hit, i get throat hit & flavor, but barely any vapor. and later on, i start getting very muted flavor, no throat hit, but plenty of vapor. i feel like i should drip a couple more drops in, but looking inside, the whole cup is flooded with liquid still. could anyone explain this to me if this has happened to them..?

not I....
seems like you want a tank or something that will hold lots of juice.
IMO if you want the optimal vape experience, you will drip.
I can see using an Empire shield to catch juice leaks, but not to use as a tank system...
Optimal vape on an atty requires the perfect amount of juice on the coil; any time you submerge the coil, it's calle d flooding... Not trying to be facetious, but seems you are abusing the principles.

I've seen the same thing if I push it just a little too far as well. Flavor & TH, certainly, but very little if any visible vapor. Sometimes the vapor is only visible before inhaling. Then near the end, it can get so fine, flavorless, and significantly lighter color.

I'm not sure how the heck that works either, but I'm going to guess it has something to do with droplet size? Maybe you get 'normal' steam as opposed to 'fizzling' juice droplets you get when the atty can really run?

At any rate - I really haven't a clue, but I thought it interesting when I noticed this too.

the LR's need to be tweaked to get the best balance of flavor and vapor.
In order to get good taste, i have to dial back the voltage; especially the 1.5 Ohm 901.

I don't care for TH much anyway so with the 510's I just set my VV so that i get the most vapor with less burning taste.
Tons of vapor and decent flavor...
got to lower the nic level or nic OD.
