Been steeping Smooth Criminal over a week, and I'm gonna give it another couple weeks (or longer) at least before I give up on it, but I don't think it's gonna work out. The stuff tastes like vaping a scented candle (I know that's not technically descriptive). I don't know why, it just fires some candle synapses in my brain and it ain't working. It tastes the same to me now as the day I opened the bottle, as well. Anyone else have this experience with Ahl juice? I liked their customer service, shipping times, etc., and I like their philosophy and the idea of NET's in general. Is it worth trying another tobacco vape from them, or do you find their tobacco flavors fairly similar with regard to candleosity ? I don't get any tobacco sense from SC either, but I've read that it really takes some steeping time to bring out the tobacco. For all the rave reviews, I just don't think this stuff is any good, but I'll give it another few weeks. I wanted to try Sahara and/or Desperado, maybe others, but jeez, if they're all vaguely similar... I'd rather not spend precious resources. Maybe I should move on to another vendor? Candle-like? Am I crazy? I can't be the only one...

I didn't get a candle-like thing from it, but it didn't wow me either. I do like Shipwreck though since I'm a coconut freak. You said, " I don't get any tobacco sense from SC either, but I've read that it really takes some steeping time to bring out the tobacco." Many people say that Ahlusion and NETs in general get best with a really long steep. I find that almost all juice from any brand is best after a couple month steep or even longer. I really don't think you can judge most juice until you've given it a month. At any rate-if you want something more tobacco forward maybe try their "aromatic" blends, those are much stronger and very authentic tobacco flavors. Naturallyextractedtobacco.com has fine NETs, you might want to try the sun dried turkish there. I love Trabuco Vapor's NETs best, but it's pricey.
Ahlusion has been kind of hit & miss with me, many just don't have a bold enough flavor (I asked them for bold flavor), others I've liked but not one of my favorite vendors overall since i have others i like more, they sure have a lot of fans though.

In a strange way, calling a product overrated always made me more likely to try it ! The implication is a lot of people rated it highly in the first place.

You are right that they are no longer a NET vendor, with "aromatic" line being discontinued. While they used to call their non-aromatics NET's as well, they never really played that way to me, and i thought their explanation was vague and even contradictory in different parts of the site. They no longer call these NET's. As 'synthetic, flavored' NET's the line is hit and miss for me. Some i loved, others not so much. For tobacco's, there are a few other vendors i prefer.

But for teas and coffees, they are the only vendor i order from ( with the exception of nJoy double espresso ). I have tried a lot of vendors, and none have come close in satisfying my taste buds, in this category. But obviously taste, subjective, YMMV etc ...

I agree with a couple of other posters that their desserts are not bold and in your face, like Nicoticket, Plume Room and a few others, and they are best appreciated with a good dripper. What some call lacking flavor, others see as subtle and nuanced. Me, i get tired of desserts really fast regardless of the vendor.

So, are there better choices out there ? For some no, for most yes. Same could be said for any vendor really. I rate them in the upper echelon of vendors overall, across all categories.

I know this thread is a little old but still open to comments so... :) After reading all the hype about Ahlusion and their great coffee flavors, I ordered a few 10ml bottles to sample. The did ship very fast, but unsteeped, they do all seem to have some odd perfumey taste to them (not something I would expect from coffee). That said, I am going to steep a while and see if they develop in to a coffee flavor or not. I got Cafe Au Lait, Cappucino, French Roast, Mocha, Kent's blend, Kona Kick, and Chai Tea. They do all have that same "underlying" perfume flavor, but I noticed the Kona tastes a lot like VV's Double Espresso and Kona Coffee Milkshake. Anyway, just adding my 2 cents. I'm still on my great coffee quest unfortunately. The Chai Tea is OK - pretty spicy, but still with that odd perfumey taste.

Ahlusion juices benefit from a relatively long steep in general. I am not saying you are guaranteed to love any of them after a long steep, but based on my experience with at least two dozen vendors, Ahlusion juices change in profile the most when aged. And the vast majority of the time, for the better.

Since you seem to be sparing no expense in your coffee quest, you might want to try nJoy double espresso, available at many 7 11's, Walmarts etc. I like it a great deal ... Mountain Oak Vapors' Americano is advertised as a tobacco/coffee but it's coffee dominated imo and the tobacco base seems to enhance the coffee flavor. One of my favorite juices across all categories. Their Coffee and Cream has a bunch of fans too. Haven't tried it myself.

Btw, do you think you're a supertaster ?
