I M planing on getting a ego ce4 or the katana in the next week or so. A friend at work heard I was interested in starting and gave me a fifty-one duo and was wondering if it was worth keeping. I am not a big fan of the cartridges that I can't fill my self so I'm not sure if I can file these or buy some that I can. Anyone know if it is possible?

Short answer is no. EVO head and battery is where you want to start with and twist or spinner as upgrade to that.

Here is the video on how to refill your 51duo carto. You remove the rear cap using the paper clip and use same paper clip to push out the little cup with some cotton ball in it. drop a few liquid until it wont absorb anymore. Put it back together and you are good to go.

I have one of those sitting here next to me and I really hate it with a passion. I'm using 3 Ego batteries, EVOD head, CE5 tank and ce4 tnak. EVOD is by far my choice go to currently.

Ask question if you need any thing at all.

Cheers.

So should I go with the katana kit or the ego ce4 kit as a starter?
So the head is the part that burns out on the clear tanks and needs to get replaced? How long does one last because I'm a non smoker and would only be using it once or twice a day unless I'm playing video games on my days off which would be once or twice a week? Don't want to buy and have it die on me before I can get supplies in.

I do not know about katana kit. But read some about it just now and this is what I see different.

Katana kit is
1. Auto (just suck on it and battery fires automatically.
2. limited to just one type of atomizer (510 thread)
3. Cheap compare to other styles of easier starter kits.
4. Leak will kill the battery since auto switch is open.
5. no upgrade path to CE style atomizer or any other with out an adapter, don't know if there are adapters avail.

CE style battery.
1. Manual. (most prefers over auto)
2. easy upgrade and compatible with 95 % of atomizers, cartos, drippers etc etc.
3. Very inexpensive if you know where to look. Eg, 450 MAH starter kits can be had for about 10 bucks.
4. Leaks will not kill the battery.
6. easy upgrade. (upgrade the battery and all your other supplies will work without wasting your hard earned $)

EVOD heads that I like are under 5 bucks to replace (replace the coild and they are about a buck each, rebuild yourself and its about 10 cents each) very cheap to run and care free. Ask if you get lost.

If I may ask , where are you getting your kit, juice ? Local ? online ? what kind of cost are you looking at?

Regards.

Gottavape.com has a 15 dollar start up kit with a 10 ml bottle. I'm going to stop at local store on Tuesday and see if they have anything reasonable in price. Not sure how good the setup there is but also saw a couple cheap set ups on fastech but I really don't want to wait two weeks unless it's the best way to go. I'm open to any suggestions but would prefer a cheap starting kit cause I would love to upgrade to a e pipe and don't want to buy a expensive kit them buy a good e pipe and waste the money on the first device. I'm trying to absorb as much knowledge before I start.

a fifty-one duo

That ecig came out in 2009-2010. In vape years, that is about 50 years old technology, given how fast things are moving. :)

If you are starting out, start with something that is going to be easy, give you what you need, and not require proprietary stuff from only one vendor.

Ego Twist or Vision Spinner with an Evod clearomizer probably better way for you to go.

A decent start up kit will never be a waste of $$ since even if you eventually get an e-pipe, your startup kit will become your "backup" kit.

stick the duo in a drawer in case you are ever really really desperate. I somehow think it will never see the light of day again though.
