Okay, I did a build: 24g Kanthal, 7 wraps, 3mm, .68 ohms. A couple of observations, too. First, above 20w on my VTC Mini the stainless drip tip gets hot on a long drag. If you're a high wattage/voltage vaper who likes to take long drags, you'll want to put a non-metallic tip on this. This is obviously a result of the shortness of the tank and closeness of the tip to the coil. Second, you have to be VERY careful to clip the coil leads so that they are basically completely flush with the posts. If you don't, the deck won't fit into the chimney, due to the tolerances between the posts and chimney walls. You obviously don't want your leads touching the chimney anyway, but I was just surprised by the tolerances in this one. If you leave even .5mm of lead sticking out, the unit cannot be assembled. Just make sure the flats of your snips, clippers, whatever, are pressed firmly against the deck posts when clipping the leads off.

Other than that, this tank is really nice! Nice airflow, zero leaking issues (thus far), and very easy to build on. I'm not even going to try to get detailed pics, after the atrocious example I posted in my last reply ( :p ), but I do have a decent digital camera inbound as we speak, since it's apparent that I'll be posting such pics frequently. When it gets here this coming week, I'll try to get some better pics. :thumb:
Thanks for your feedback! Can't wait to get my hands on one. Still deciding where to purchase. We wait with bated breathe for your pics lol!

So after my initial enthusiasm and with subsequent builds I have found a few minor annoyances. If you do not have this wicked just right you will get a tiny bit of flooding when refilling. I have had no leaking but the flooding is kind of annoying although it goes away after a couple tokes. Also it cranks through the juice. I have a 6 wrap 34x26 316l single core clapton squeezed in there 3mm Id ohming .4 and its ripping like a champ but it can get HOT with the steel driptip so I recommend switching it out. The flavor is great and I think it's way easier to build on then its predecessor! Really happy with this little guy

I've been looking at this one, too. Good to know about the tip, as it's shortness looked like it would get too hot. Did you change it to a taller steel one (and did it help?) or are you using another material that handles the heat much better? Thanks!

Well, whadda ya know? My camera arrived today. It's just an $80 Sony Cyber-Shot, but it looks like it's gonna do fine. I think I'm going to do another build on the Serpent Mini this weekend, so I'll be sure to get some pics along the way. For now, here's a test shot:

Did a build. Didn't get the comprehensive pics I hoped for, as some didn't turn out well (still getting used to the camera). However, I did get some nice ones.

The unit broken down to it's basic parts, minus the deck:

The coil wrapped, clamped into place, cut, and dry burnt:

All wicked up and ready to juice:

edit: Be mindful of the legs of the coil touching the center airflow tube after installation. I use the jig piece that I wrapped the coil on to pull it up after I get it clamped in place. In the second pic, the coil legs may look like they're right on the airflow, but there is actually about 1mm of space between. :thumb:
