Would upgrading be beneficial enough?

So its just how you want to progress , xtar 4 is a good charger. Its just slower when more than 2 batteries being charged , but does charge them well , so i would recommend the xtar unless you want to test ,if you dont want to test then Xtar is probably the better basic charger only ,

After reading your comments and doing a bit of googling after opus bt and xtar comparisons I think I'll go with the xtar.

"Thers many kits an various prices an quality"
Yeah, no ....ing kidding. This does my head in. Going for an expensive kit like the Geekvape Master Kit might be a bit overkill for an RBA beginner like myself, or what do you think? While neat, I don't know how much use I'd get out of a 521 ohm meter.

There some quite strange stuff coming out recently , the pilot vapes make coil winders tools for beginners , but have just released a 521 tab that can build on pre burn coils test resistance an fire and vape from an now including a coil winders twister builders can make coils twist wires ect all in one box crazy things ,

Damn, that one is kinda cool. Why must vaping ravage my wallet this much? Maybe getting one of the cheaper kits with a very basic ohm meter and then some time in the future when I feel the need, upgrade to something like that Pilot Vape Coil Magician (or whatever is new and popular when the time comes) would be a decent option.

I think I'll go for one of the "mid-tier" ones to save me the trouple of buying extra loose tools. If it's between the Youde UD Coil Mate and the LTQ Vapor toolkit, which one would you suggest?

EDIT: A small thing I missed regarding the xtar, it only comes with an USB charger. I'm fine with that as my tower sits on my desk and I have access to multiple USB ports but would it affect the charging negatively in any way compared to using a wall socket?

Im blogging up this site with many pics but its easier to see what might suit you ,rather than trying to explain ,but best bet is get the essential now basics ,then as you progress you can upgrade an use them as back ups , i use my ud sets at home but have random sets for taking to my girlfriend's home , im buying that first mini geek vape set bag , its got the basics ive got lots of cheap ohm meters an ceramic tweezers to put with it then can leave it there an not worry or need it while im at home i use the better ud sets i have , , any ways , and i use a coil master 521 at home allows me to test an vape from it , but im using vtc4 battery in it for the high amp

After reading your comments and doing a bit of googling after opus bt and xtar comparisons I think I'll go with the xtar.

I started with the Nitecore D4. (similar to Xtar) It works. It came with a 12V cord so I could use it in my PU Camper. That was little over a year ago.

I recently picked up an Opus so I could check the quality and age of my batteries. Besides being able to charge at a higher rate than the Nitecore, there are a number of automatic diagnostic features I felt I needed. Now instead of just wondering if my build or how I'm running my mod is effecting run time, I can double check the battery capacity.

The Nitecore now lives out in the camper.

The screw drivers in this set can be used to wrap your wire around they have the sizes on them for coil inner diameter coils sizes , or gear best has coil master coilers for 5£

Never thought it would be this hard to choose something as basic as a charger, guess there's more to it than I initially thought. Maybe I'll settle for an Opus anyway, being able to check on my batteries would probably alleviate possible paranoia in the future.

You can use a smart phone plug to use to plug in the usb cable to power the chargers,
These are fine for the battery chargers ,
but not recommend for charging your mods , as mods usually only 500mAh not 1amp an 2amp capable

The ud kit has a coiling tool included with it , the cheaper kits , dont , but the cheaper , geek vape kit you can wrap around the screw drivers they are made in specific sizes for making coils,
Theses are choices you will have to make ,ie if you can afford it or not.

YMMV however had I went ahead and spent the few extra $$$ in the first place on the Opus I would not now have two chargers. (no real need for 2)

If you can afford it, I'd recommend spending the extra up front, you may thank yourself later when the diagnostic features come in handy.

Same here , i have two but have many mods an need a bout 6 to 8 slots for charging at times ,the opus does have quicker charging too , but its not recommend to go over 1000mAh for 18650s, but with them accept multiple sizes of batteries what ever futer mod with have you covered on charging larger batteries

If I go for the cheaper Geekvape I'd still need an ohm meter and ceramic tweezers like you said earlier. It might save me a bit of money but I think I'll be a bit lazy and choose the Youde Coil Mate Kit. While not necessary like you pointed out I still think the specifically designed coiling tools are kind of neat and might make it marginally easier. And thanks for the info regarding the charger.

I think I'm going for the Opus, I know I'll want to test my batteries at some point.

Each one serves a purpose of basic to pro tools , most builders / vapers who have been doing it a while usually have several sets ,

Yeah I'm sure I'll get more tools further down the line, for now though I'm choosing the UD one.
And I might be lazy but I feel like I need to learn how to make my coils by hand, I don't mind spending some time on that.
