well they replied, and said they want a clear pic of what is wrong.. wtf? I think my pic is as good as i can get! And then they said they want a pic of the outside of the envelope..

This is why guys, lesson learned.. unboxing video, unboxing video, unboxing video. From outer shipping bag to item, then item shrink wrap to first open. Learned my lesson.

I get a lot of mail, and i shred my envelopes every single day. It was just a tiny yellow bag. I never even THOUGHT they would want me to take a pic of that! I have never been asked such a thing before. I will go through my massive recycle bin and see if i haven't shredded it yet, but i don't even know if it's worth the pain it will cause to my bad back to go through the bin..

Blood pressure :-x

To be fair to the vendor, they couldn`t have been aware of the poor quality paint job as it was a sealed unit - the onus lies completely with the factory.

That being said, it`s how they handle the aftersale.

I personally wouldn`t accept it, unless they made reparation to the value of at least $20 - otherwise it would be a return.
I`d deal with it if it was the cost of a 'bargain bin' item.

Some people may not care about a faulty finish, others like yourself presumably, do.
Right, of course I do not blame sourcemore!

I really hope I haven't given that impression. It's smok that caused the problem (and this insistence of having silica packets always squished with the mod, which also leaves stains especially on lighter coloured ones).

This is a smok QC issue, but source more are the vendor, so unfortunately they have to deal with it. An Australian vendor once told me smok do not even honour a single days warranty, the dealer always wears it per Australian law. I wonder if he was telling the truth, as that's pretty major if he is.

At the same time though I have to be honest on just how slow their ship was.. do not believe the quoted 7 - 14 days LOL. More like 28. And China to AUS really isn't that far. It's just a slow shipping method used (HK post). Fasttech ships free OR let's me pay just a few cents, sometimes a dollar max, to upgrade to trackable AUS POST expedited ship.. usually get things in a week. Sourcemore upgraded ship is $12 - 20+$.
They do have decent prices and a very easy to use site, I will try them once more if they have something I really want, so please don't think I want to bash them unfairly. I guess I am just upset that it's the second brand new osub 80w that's had issues that i have bought. Again, if it was on blowout like some crazy price, i would have said it was worth the visual issues, but in my currency it was 65 bucks. Just take this advice to do unboxing videos.. it's worth the minute spent..

Hmm... For the price you paid, and the fact that it is painted. Yes. That would bother me. I bought a Cuboid 150w back in Aug of last year from MyVaporStore, and it came factory sealed, scratch-n'-sniff checked out, but when I opened the box to check it out, the charging port was scratched to hell! Deep scratches, I didn't put up a stink about it because the mod worked fine, was stainless steel finish, and I only spent $35 on it. Unfortunate that the vendor is giving you a hard time though :(

My smok mini knight kit (shiny stainless steel) $44.77 Authentic Smoktech SMOK Koopor Knight 80W TC VW APV Mod Kit - 2ml / 1-80W / 100-315'C(200-600'F) / 304 stainless steel + glass + zinc alloy / 1*18650 at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping
is scratched to buggery.. I still have never used it.. All i did was take it out of the box to admire it, the front was flawless, flipped it around to check out the battery cover, and it's a disgrace.. the whole point of shiny silver is to look good. I am just throwing this out there, cause I really think it's an issue with smok mods in general. The coopor 2 mini is a fantastic piece of art and takes 24.5 mm tanks flush as well as being small and 1 battery, but again, smok, you need better, QC, QC, and yes Smok, you need better QC.

I haven't had a visual issue with joyetech myself.. i only own one of the "expensive" joyetech products, a racing yellow (black stripe) evic vtwo, and the paint job is flawless but the wattage dial actually feels so flimsy i am scared to barely even touch it... so your cuboid is the stainless one like my knight.. maybe it's china and stainless mods = scratches syndrome LOL (just being cheeky). Sorry to read it came in such poor visual condition. $35 for a cuboid 150 was a very very good price though.

I would be very upset too. I take very good care of my devices. So much so that ALL of mine still look like new. Even the ones I have used for years. I did receive one MVP 20 watt with a tiny nick in the paint but since I bought it for a very good price I decided to just accept it as is.

Now that silicone sleeves are available for just about any device, I get one for each of mine. Kinda takes away from the beauty of the color chosen but feel so good ('specially in the winter) and they protect the finish so I choose to use them.

I don't know why they need the envelope, they can check the tracking and see it arrived the day of the photo date. Furthermore, they are the only seller currently selling blue osubs, literally. So where else could i have got it from, the moon? I guess they are not going to help, i might leave this one up to paypal. Never heard paypal demanding a receivers envelope before.

It's ridiculous the hoops they're making you jump through!

I have to just update this and let you know, sourcemore are torturing me. 24+ hours between each reply, which is always unhelpful and now they have offered me 6 dollars refund. I can't even get a SKIN shipped here for 6 dollars. I've started a dispute with paypal. Never, ever again. Sourcenomore.

That blows and I can't like the comment because of it!

Me?

Right now?

Id just eat the $50.00 unless I knew I could get a full refund or another mod free.

I'd be hell bent and getting something handled on principle.

$50 just isn't worth my time anymore and I'm already acquainted with smok quality from prior purchases.

Given a month to receive it, I'd have assumptions about the seller already.

They always try for a low amount at first to see if you`ll crack easily - I`d hold out for a more sensible offer of recompense, IF you are willing to keep the item.

They don`t really want it back after all.
I had already started a paypl dispute yesterday saying i'd accept a 50% refund.

I said the same to them. That they could replace it, or if they want me to keep it, there is no way i am paying more than 25 bucks for it in the condition it's in.

I'll see what happens.

Still won't deal with them again, and will link them to this topic and the bad publicity they are getting.

I mean it's my FIRST experience with them.. I am actually surprised they are not helping more TBH.

The item was literally sent in a tiny paper thin bag, The mod would have been flying around within the box. They even said to me, that it was likely damaged in transit.

With fasttech, i can pay $1 per item and have it packed in a box, and I do that for important items...

I am trying gearbest for the first time now, they had a flash sale on a DNA250, let's see how that arrives. After this experience, of course I'll be doing an unboxing video and opening video of postage bag too. Fasttech was $70 more for the same item, so that was a huge saving. So i'm giving GB one shot.

I'm a man of principle, but also a good customer. If sourcemore made this right, they'd have me as a future customer. Because they don't seem to care too much, they've lost me. They lose in the long run..
Customer UN helpfullness never pays off IMO.
