Wouldn't it be nice to +5V vape on your Chuck with the 18650 battery?

So this is interesting to me. Drew over at nhaler.com has rolled out a 5V standard ecig called the Magnum.
The Magnum Kit
A pretty cool device considering the size of it. Basically, it seems to use a lower ohm 510 atty to increase the current. I'm a little skeptical that these batteries could withstand the power/current discharge for that long, but still a great idea. He doesn't have any components for sale yet, but he said that he would try to get some up when he has more stock. I've seen HV attys but LV attys are new to me.
I'm thinking that I could use one of these attys on my Chuck and +5V vape for 2 plus days on the 18650 battery, and that's a happy thought to me. This all makes perfect sense to me, but I'm not a physics/electrical expert by any means. So fellow Chuckleheads, am I right about this or should I curb my enthusiasm :?:?

I hear what you're saying GotiT, but the 18650 is a robust battery. It is a different issue altogether with 16340 and smaller batteries. If you go unprotected, you are already taking a risk. It seems to me that this battery can handle the current draw- right?

Here is the technical info from Tenergy's website:

A 3000mAh battery at 5v is NOT going to last near as long as one at 3.7. It's simple math unless (cough) someone has once again re-written the rules of....

Editing self.

Battery charge density has come a long way in the past few years, but it is the greatest hurdle to overcome in producing more efficient batteries.

This statement is a mouthful ---> "Light weight and higher energy density than any rechargeable battery" there are some crazy elements coming down the pipeline in regards to this. I have yet to see any of them being made publically available. Publically obviously excludes NASA and Argonne (US Dept. of energy). I have some long-standing contacts (friends/family) there... unfortunately they all know me well enough to keep me away and search my pockets when departing from a random visit.

A 5v 18650 would be awsome, but don't expect it to last as long as the 3.7v version.

This is perhaps a good time to unveil the COLD-FUSION Chuck?

Just looked at that Magnum. Hmmm? Looking at the pic it looks like he is selling a KR808 battery (to get the higher mAh) and an adapter (so the 510 fits it) and (apparently) a lower ohm atty to go with it. Now, the claim is 9-10W vaping, To get 10 watts out of a 3.7V batt, it's gonna work out to a 2.7A draw.
Assuming those are 300mAh 808 batts, and you are pulling 2700mA through them, you are going to get about 5min of button press before charge is required.
I'll stick with the 2hours of (possible) button press of my chuck ;)

(not to mention that a 808 batt, plus adapter, plus atty, plus cart is going to be about 3 and half feet long:rolleyes: (ok exagerating a little there)
