Conclusion: Due to the associations between diacetyl, bronchiolitis obliterans and other severe respiratory diseases observed in workers, urgent action is recommended to further evaluate this potentially widespread exposure via flavored e-cigarettes.

Associations are speculative at this point. CDC rulings not Science studies, for limits or Dangers.
diseases observed in workers - Not Quantified as a Cause, simply an assumption as to cause.
I.E. Was it the POWDERED Diacetyl in use, a composite of Chemicals included with Diacetyl or a Lifestyle/Genetic combination of events?

No Smokers have been reported with Popcorn lung caused by Diacetyl in cigarettes
No Vapers have been reported with Popcorn lung
* Children having never done either have been Diagnosed with bronchiolitis obliterans(Popcorn Lung) Long before vaping existed or Microwave popcorn was available.

Diketones MAY be a Problem, however at this point it is a Discussion/Debate and some Fear Mongering when actual Scientific studies should have long since been started to come to some TRUE conclusion.

I have no dog in this hunt, but people should be honest about where all information comes from and how it is collected.

A Case of Bronchiolitis Obliterans Organizing Pneumonia Syndrome with Preceding Radiation Pneumonitis after Breast-conserving Therapy Never smoker

The term "bronchiolitis obliterans" was first used in 1835, and then again only in 1901 for two patients with chronic cough and dyspnea of undetermined origin who later died.4,5

In 1954, MacLeod described this syndrome in nine adult patients that had unilateral pulmonary hyperlucency
