Good morning @low_tar_neil ! Had a super wet weekend. Had a birthday Saturday and ran around a lot, but Sunday was a couch potato dayHello everybody! How were your weekends?
It would be awesome if something like that would work for him. That's a great idea. I'll have to tell him about your story later today!Hi Kelsie! That sounds like a very serious situation, Kelsie. One that could last FAR too long without big luck, or some thinking outside the box. Little story..
When I was really young, had my own Apt. Automotive job, skilled trade. BIG layoff come down, AND the economy was turning to crud. Didn't want to lose my apt! Even though I was getting Unemployment and union sub pay, I didn't want to just sit around either. I put an ad in the paper "Young, hard working man willing to work for food". I worded it that way, because I REALLY wanted something that paid.. off the radar, and NOT permanent. Loved my trade, just had to weather it out.
I got SOOO many reponses to that. Employers are HUNGRY to find people who can think outside the box, and are aggressive about pursuing opportunity. My phone rang off the HOOK! I ended up taking a job with a guy who was installing above ground swimming pools. It was summer, sounded like fun and good exercise. Worked like a dog, learned everything I could. The owner asked me two weeks in, if I would like to run my own jobs. He would get the jobs, take 5%, and I would have to put together my own crew, buy the materials, rent the sodcutter, pay the crew, etc. I was.. HELL YEAH!
OMG, I made SO much money that summer! It was insane. I'd make $400+ a DAY, and that was 1982! So tell your man, don't give up, don't wait for something to happen. MAKE it happen! Doing something unusual will make ya stand out, and impresses the heck outta the folks with the keys to your success.
Very good thanks, christmas party on Friday night and a very rocking gig on Saturday. My immune system does appear to have taken a kicking though![]()
