I was so excited to actually find these flavorings (and at a Giant Eagle no less!) that I just picked out four flavors that sounded good. Now I'm home and the excitement has waned...I don't know if the ones I got are usable?

It doesn't say if they're oil or water soluable. The ingredients are PG, and artificial flavor on the Coconut, Natural and artificial flavors and PG on the Chocolate Hazelnut. PG and natural and artificial flavors and water in the English Toffee. I'm not even going to ask on the Tutti Frutti, it sounds lucious but I see Red #40 and Blue #1 along with artificial flavors and PG.

Which are good to use and which aren't? I was so excited....

IMHO, all the ones you bought are fine. There is no empirical evidence that colors are bad, it's one person's opinion that some folks have adopted as gospel. I use several that have colors and have had no bad (or any, I should say) effects from it.

The only color I'm iffy about (and still use anyway) is caramel coloring, and that's because it's sugar based. I'm not concerned about it from a health standpoint, but more from a 'how does it affect my atomizer's life span' standpoint.

As you speculated, none of those contain oils.

Thanks so much for the list! At least the other three I got are good! I'll just return the Tutti Frutti if I have to. A dozen or so...I don't know if it was here or not but somewhere online I read that you could find Lorann's at pharmacies. Here, I'd been looking at Michaels, Walmart, etc. I asked at two pharmacies today while I was at work (doc's office) and both had them, one being Giant Eagle's Pharmacy. I never even would have THOUGHT to try a pharmacy and have no idea why they're there. I did ask a girl at work whose mom makes hard tack candy and she said they've always gotten it at the pharmacy!

Hmmm. I wonder if the Strawberry, Watermelon, etc. from the manufacturers contain color? I have some very weak Cherry here that I mixed up, I'd love to add a few drops of Tutti Frutti to it....but then Coconut would be nice. OR Chocolate Hazelnut Cherry sounds good too!....Oh dear!

I put together a list for my own use and thought it might be useful here fore anyone who wants it.

I would stress that I did not do all the hard work of looking up the ingredients and I just plagiarized someone else's hard work, put it into a document, and colour-coded it (but I am afraid I cannot remember who is was who originally did all of this hard work, so I can't give them credit, but I will say that it wasn't from this site)

No-one knows for sure about colours... as Walrus stated, but I just colour coded those with 'unknown' ingredients and colourings as mid-level, those that are aparently 'clean' as green, and those that are oil-based (and therefore least desirable for vaping) as red.

Hope it helps someone out there :D

PS - Sorry - had to upload inside a zip file as .pdf file direct upload only allows 19.5kb

The post at http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/diy-e-liquid/5066-eliquid-recepies-24.html
took almost 3 hours to compile going into each flavor on their website. It is a difficult process.

Yes - I know you posted that (and I know you spent ages doing so and kudos to you for it), but I'm afraid that someone else on another site had already done it before you.... which is when I compiled my doc, and why I didn't give you the original 'credit' for my doc.

Well... if the manufacturer in question is Addiction Juice, the answer is a resounding "YES" since they have admitted to using Lorann's flavorings to make their stuff. The others, who knows.

Every other member who says that stuff is bad is quoting Kate. And while I love and respect her, she made that determination based on nothing but a hunch. She thought it wasn't good, and decided not to use it. Everyone quotes her as gospel. Fact is, there's no evidence either way.

I have, however, found documentation that Caramel coloring is made from corn syrup and sugars. They could foul atomizers... but mine seem to be doing fine.

I'm on the Capella flavor drops website now. I can't seem to find a list of ingredients for the flavors. I think I read here that one of the liquid suppliers uses Capella.

They do have 50% off a whole page of flavors....
Capella Flavor Drops - Flavor Concentrates for Coffee, Tea, Desserts, Diet & Pro - Limited Time - 50% OFF

I don't particularly like how they don't let you know what the ingredients are. And they don't mention what size the bottles are either, unless I'm missing it.

They do look exactly like US Plastics 15ml bottles, though.

LOL... I wonder if they are repackaging/mixing Lorann's flavors and marking them up :)

:D That'd be pretty funny. Yeah, I can't find any listing of ingredients or bottle sizes, so I'd agree on that point.

I'm sure it would help me, but I can't get it to open? Adobe can't open it since it's a zip file and double clicking on it doesn't extract it....ideas?
