I've come to the conclusion that I don't like micro-coils. When I started making them I noticed I wasn't getting as much heat or TH which is weird because I understand they're supposed to give you more. At first I thought it was because I switched gauges but when I did a quick coil today on my Rm2 without trying to keep my wraps tight I got the old hit with the thicker wire. Now I'm wondering about a dragon coil and seeing if it might be better than the old spirals. Only references I seem to find are to nano dragons. Are all dragon coils nano?

Funny... Ryedan and I were just discussing this. Or rather, I was on my soapbox, and he was politely listening.

Coils with "names" can be very confusing... which is why I don't use - or promote the use of names. The closest I've come is the use of "micro" to represent coils at 1/16" or less in diameter... but micro, for many, didn't explain the compressed, or coils touching, aspect of the individual coils, so now, I take the time to write out exactly what a coil is.

Coils are either vertical or horizontal. Coils are either compressed coil or open coil as regards individual coil spacing. Diameter is diameter.

If I build a 26 ga, 9 wrap, 2.5mm ID, compressed coils, vertical coil... what is it? It is, exactly what I've written it out to be... and anyone can figure it out. ;-)

This would certainly save a lot of confusion
